another look into my writing process. I make a pattern on my digitakt, and then I noodle over it until I stumble across a riff that I like enough to keep. Unsure if one exists in here, but I'm definitely getting the vibe down ;)
proof that I am actually absorbing what I'm studying:
I'd gotten yelled at in the past for only ever creating plucky synth sounds, but the real reason was I didn't know how to write legato lines.
I always felt like I was just running up and down the scale of whatever song I was playing without any direction; studying Turkish pop has helped me feel infinitely more comfortable with making smaller changes in my note choice to make large impacts, as opposed to hopping around octaves hoping to land on something that resolved (study your cadences, people!)
I hope the end of your year goes smoothly.
PS that is a bag of trailmix, as I love trail mix.
