A little carousel of some of the steps that took my 'HMS Attenborough' board' from MDF to the side of a rusted ship

Little time lapse of the aging down process on this chipped paint rusty piece of steel (MDF) that I created from scratch. Learning all sorts of wonderful techniques this week with @scenicpaintersstudio

A little BTS shot (thank you @nicolayoungphotography )
Because we couldn't do a set build for the Oz tower for various reasons, we settled on the gorgeous Elvaston Castle. To try and bring a little of the decay into the room, we draped miles of emerald satin around the room, similar to how one would cover furniture with dustsheets and entwined ivy throughout all it, to appear as though it were growing through the cracks and slowly taking over, to reclaim it by nature πΏ
A detail close up of the very first concept sketch I did for @galeyellowbrickroadfilm for the 'Emerald Tower' set which, due to timing and budget constraints this time round, we decided to find an existing alternative in the real world which is where Elvaston Castle came in! No AI here, all old school pencil and ink sketch

Our Tinman played by the ever talented @harietisidor
A little BTS info; with the design of Tinman, I really wanted to play on the decay of the magic of Oz, rusted and falling apart, with no one left to help keep him oiled and having lost his original parts such as the funnel. The choice to make him humanoid and bring him away from the original design was to really lean into the loss of magic, familiarity and fantasy and exploit that emotional fracture, of becoming something we don't recognize.
Fun fact: Tinman was originally only meant to be a static prop (a bust brought to life by the fantastic @evers_little_studio )
It was then, later, written that Tinman would appear in a very much alive and full form and so began the transformation. In three days, I carefully dissected our original bust, and put together a fully wearable practical costume with the guidance of our incredible Costume Designer @officialrhysellis and on the day help with the mask and application by our phenomal Makeup designer @monicamontalvomua
Styling for @foreverglobalhq with photographer: Sander Jurkiewicz and gaffer: @isaacnewman
Some of my favourite shoots are with these guys because it is guaranteed that there will be great music on set, every time!
