The content of this book features Siem’s thesis accompanied by her own photographs, additional works, and sources of inspiration.
‘Flat Stuff’ is a book that reflects Siem’s inherent inclination to collect, transforming seemingly ordinary objects into protagonists, and UBO’s (Unidentified Beautiful Objects). The book delves into how she employs her camera to navigate these concepts.
The aim for the design of this book was to encapsulate Siem’s method of working. For instance, we treated all punctuations as protagonists, eliminated the cover, and played with distinctive page numbers.

As a small business owner, it often feels as if I rely on this platform for visibility and job opportunities. At the same time, being seen among influencers and big corporations feels like an impossible task. I decided that I no longer want to spend time and energy trying to stand out among these giants.
In addition, getting stuck scrolling leaves me feeling empty. Sometimes it even makes me sad. Instagram is giving me more trouble than it’s worth.
If in the future, it turns out that I truly can’t run my business without Instagram, I will return. But for now, I want to focus on creating and I cannot find the peace and focus I need for that here.

This year, @loods6 welcomes @ripbm to Amsterdam for the very first time—a festival that explores the intersection of contemporary art and film.
I’m excited to share that I had the pleasure of designing the poster and other graphic extra’s for this special collaboration.
