We restocked our Miecz tumblers with some spring colors. Only a couple of sets available! #eutopiadesign #crystalglasses #crystaltumbler #crystaldrinkware
The crystal glass is first shaped and cut using industrial grinders creating basic pattern (as outlined in our previous video).
Here you can witness the meticulous process of engraving that comes after the initial cutting. It is done by a highly skilled artisan who will carve fine, intricate details- in this case- stars.#eutopiadesigncrystal #crystalglassware #crystaltumblers #crystalglassware #luxurycrystal
This traditional indexing wheel helps the artisans map out the cuts made on the glass. The spacing that they line out is consistent and symmetric. The precisely outlined pattern will guide where each cut goes.

We start with a drawing and meticulous measurements. This tumbler combines two design patterns; lower part of the glass uses what is called a diamond cut or crosshatch cut. This design dates back to late 18th century, and likely originated in Bohemia (modern day Czechia)
The upper section of the panel – “Thumbprint cut” was very popular in mid-19th century Silesian (Southwest Poland) glass workshops. We loved the combination of the two and an addition to some modern pastels and jewel toned colors for this collection.

Spring is coming and with it we are bringing new cuts and colors. This cut is Pineapple; originating from 18th century Europe. Traditionally a symbol of hospitality and wealth. Why wealth? Because in 18th century Europe pineapple was worth thousands in today’s money and was very rare. The fruits were used as decorative elements for display, rather than food. This cut is great if you like high refraction and brilliance. #eutopiadesigncrystal #crystalglassware #pineapplecrystalcut #crystaltumbler #crystalglassware
Over the next few weeks we will show the process of crystal glass development from concept through casting to polishing and cutting. Some of the tools used are century old. Follow to see how a real piece of art is made. #crystalglassware #eutopiadesign #crystalglasses #crystalglassmaking
