The Sust-HEIn project also looks at attitudes to how institutions are doing on campus.
It's important to not only identify where communication can be done more effectively with staff and students but also how improvements can can be made on infrastructure and other sustainable processes.

The Sust-HEIn project is committed to transforming Higher Education Institutions into beacons of sustainability and innovation. By combining systems thinking with whole-institution approaches, we aim to redefine how educational institutions address and embrace their green transition.
Sust-HEIn Info Days: the project ran a series of Info Days to connect stakeholders (such as the one pictured), fostering collaboration and dialogue among stakeholders. Local actors were encouraged to actively participate and support the pilot phase of the whole-system model to ensure its successful implementation and scalability.

Our project partners are doing great work all over Europe fostering whole-institution approaches to sustainability through systems-thinking.
For example, our partner An Taisce's Green-Campus Ireland programme is identified by the Government of Ireland as a promoter of innovation when it comes to solutions for sustainability challenges at Higher Level Institutions.

The McGill Sustainability Park is McGill University's bold new experiment: a place where students, researchers, communities and policy makers co-create solutions to the climate, equity, and environmental challenges of our time. Construction is underway with a goal to open by 2029, built to LEED standards (an internationally recognized green building certification system) & designed to preserve heritage. But more than that, it’s intended to shift how we think, learn and act.. An inspiring example of how higher education institutions can embed sustainability into their culture and spaces. Go McGill!
