It carries with it the rhythm of solitude, like watching the sky stretch endlessly, each track unfolding like a gentle breeze. The album revisits four pieces from the 2021 singles series, including ‘len’ a track that found its way into Spotify’s Instrumental Reading playlist. In addition, ‘cirrus’ includes two collaborative tracks with artists from Tokyo-based music label Schole: Synfilums (Shin Kikuchi & Itoko Toma) and Paniyolo. Crave “Sensing and Perceiving” unfolds as a gradual awakening of the senses—from the simplicity of a single hue to the layered dialogue between colour and sound. What begins as quiet perception slowly transforms, revealing how our senses can both deceive and enlighten, turning comfort into dissonance, sweetness into acidity. Crafted with a participatory approach, the work extends beyond visual and auditory experience—inviting viewers to become part of the process by recording their thoughts and feelings while encountering the piece. Through this act of participation, perception itself unfolds and transforms. Within the sensory dialogue of sound and colour, seeing and hearing no longer align, and awareness quietly begins to shift. Freed from other visual elements, the work invites viewers to experience gradients that carry rhythm, tension, and emotion. Each shift in hue and sound mirrors an underlying narrative, based on a story written by the Choco, and is guided by a soundscape composed of musical tones by Euseng Seto. Together, these elements form a sensorial journey where story is felt rather than told, and meaning emerges through the resonance of sight and sound. A booklet containing the original story is displayed alongside the film for reference. [Archive] Our Senses, Series 03 - A Moment in Our Lives “A Moment in Our Lives” captures a fragment of everyday life—a shared meal between two people at home— through an abstract lens that sits between performative art, installation, and video. The work combines clay sculptures and paper folding pieces with colour, each representing aspects of the meal and daily actions in non-literal forms. Paired with familiar auditory cues that guide perception and evoke memory, this piece encourages viewers to interpret the actions, interactions, and objects portrayed. Through the interplay of colour, action, and sound, the work offers a sensorial glimpse into moments that are familiar yet conceptually fractured, encouraging reflection on perception, memory, and the intimate rhythms of daily life. [Archive] Our Senses is a long-term art project by Choco that explores the human senses—sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell—through sensorial experiences. Initiated in 2014, the project takes an experimental-first approach, delving into both individual and combined sensory elements. The project unfolds in multiple phases, with the current stage being Phase 2, primarily focusing on the elements of sound and visual, with color as a sub-component that serves as a starting point for the audience to activate their senses. This exhibition examines how perception connects us to the world through sensory fragments. Through sound, visual rhythm, and subtle shifts of color, it invites viewers to experience how awareness and emotion emerge through perception itself. The exhibition presents three series of works developed during her participation in the Alta Project at Greydea Studio: • Series 01 — “Sensing and Perceiving” • Series 02 — “Long Thoughts During the Day” • Series 03 — “A Moment in Our Lives” Each series invites viewers to sense rather than interpret—to pause and experience the rhythm of emotion through color and sound. Our Senses becomes not just an exhibition, but an ongoing process of attunement—of rediscovering how we perceive, connect, and remember through our senses.
