After an in-depth exploration with artists, architects, activists, design students and indigenous knowledge keepers to support wellbeing on Haida Gwaii, we are pausing EN operations to focus our energy on inner wellbeing.
Our deepest appreciation to the network of partners, students and Haida community members for sharing knowledge, cultural expertise and wisdom.
What’s next?
1. Finding ways to bring regeneration into our daily lives.
2. Breaking down barriers to create spaces that encourage exchange between academic and indigenous communities

Located in Oakbank, Manitoba, Symatree Farm partners with rescued and retired horses to support the mental health of kids, teens, and adults through retreat programmes featuring equine experiences.

We are excited to share with you EN's collaboration with SD50 - students from Tahayghen elementary school have been working on creating PSA videos about what they think is most important to see for the future wellbeing of Northern Haida Gwaii. Students are designing characters and costumes, writing storyboards, and exploring camera and editing techniques! By encouraging students to embody Supernatural Beings through dance and play, we believe in using storytelling as a way to empower youth. Seen in the photo is a field trip to the beach to learn about the magical plant and animal beings that share the ocean with us.
You are invited!

Ḵagaan, the Underground tells the tale of a young Haida Boy in a dream to the Underground. "From exploring the depths of Haida Gwaii’s geological layers he is inspired to design a structure that symbolize the Interconnectedness of the physical to the metaphysical."
For the longest time, storytelling is vital to passing on knowledge and culture. Part of EN's effort working towards reconciliation reimagine Haida stories through New media - Lifeways film exhibition features a set of animated stories inspired by the supernatural beings found in Haida mythology. The films bring together local Haida, academics, storytellers and an international group of design students to explore the formation of a global identity by reimagining the community, spirit and place we know as Haida Gwaii.
