In February 2026, 46 420 first-time asylum applicants (non-EU citizens) applied for international protection in EU countries, a 9% decline compared with January 2026 (51 160). 📉🛂
🔸There were also 9 080 subsequent applicants, a 4% decrease compared with January 2026 (9 500).
🧸1 015 unaccompanied minors applied for asylum for the first time in the EU, with most of them coming from 🇸🇴Somalia (215)
🔸The EU country that received the highest number of asylum applications from unaccompanied minors was 🇩🇪Germany (255).
