Last Vestiges with @eu_charry Constructing meaning in my work is something that I think a lot about. The meaning that I attempt to develop through a set of photos and the emotion that I aim to imbue is never confirmed by anyone else, it’s always just what I feel that I have to rely on. I’m curious if anyone who looks at my work feels any slight amount of the emotion that I feel when I’m making it, as well as what I intended to put into it. When I first started shooting I found that I accidentally landed on meaning but I now more consciously attempt to approach my work with ideas and concepts in mind. Whether that comes through I’ll never fully know and I’ve had to make my peace with that. There’s a mystery to this set for me as well as a sense of soft realigning or stability that progresses from the first to the last image. Charry is such a joy to shoot with as she brings such sophistication in the way she manages her emotions on camera. There’s depth to everything I shoot with her and I love what we create together. My hope is that the mid silhouette gives you the freedom to make your own mind up about what’s going on underneath. That’s what I think but I’m always curious to know what you see and feel when you look at a set of images I’ve worked on. If you feel anything when looking at this set, let me know below.
