📊 Updated profiling standards
Following the standards we've shared previously, this updated version incorporates several refinements based on additional data and applied practice.
⸻
➤ Net Impulse added (for those without force plates)
Net impulse can be estimated in field settings using:
• Countermovement jump height (hands on hips)
• Flight-time method (for comparable results)
• Body mass at time of testing
Net impulse (N·s) = m × √(2 g × h / 100)
👉 The MyJump app will also output this value automatically.
⸻
➤ Body mass included
Reference values for body mass are now provided.
These should be interpreted within context - anthropometrics, body composition, and individual circumstances all influence how body mass relates to performance. Unlike output metrics, higher values are not inherently better.
⸻
➤ Updated jump reference data
Jump standards have been refreshed using an expanded dataset:
🏌️♂️ 146 professional men
(PGA Tour, DP World Tour, HotelPlanner Tour)
🏌️♀️ 48 professional & elite amateur women
(LPGA Tour, LET, England Golf pathway)
⸻
Standards are intended to support profiling and decision-making - not to serve as targets in isolation. Individual context, goals, demands, and medical history remain essential.
NB - For testing we tend to use
@vald_performance
@vald_health ForceDecks. If without them we typically recommend
@outputsports or
@myjumplab for jump testing, with a pair of scales.
