For my best friend, the best dog who ever lived. A graveside bench. It will only last a few Ohio winters, but the impermanence is by design.

I have about 140hrs logged in the build of these tables. Should they have taken that long to build? Probably not. When setting out to make these tables I knew I wanted to try some new things. I had built the basic structure of the legs and bottom brace many times but everything else was new. My basic process when trying so many new things is to design it in my head and then translate that to a cut sheet - which eventually gets thrown out the window because it’s more important that things fit correctly then measure correctly. Angles and fitment > “perfect” dimensions. The greatest challenge was the three piece box jointed top - it took me three full days to get them right including a botched glue up. If you’ve never glued up box joints just know that applying glue to 16ft of 3/8th inch box joints and clamping them flush and level before the glue begins to set (~10minutes) is hell. In fact you may not know this, but glue ups are the most challenging part of woodworking but are rarely talked about. I was most excited about the floating top mounting system I devised for these tables. That’s the four dowels (with baby dowel retaining pins) you see sticking out of the skirt below the top. The dowels are only friction fit and are in fact the only thing fastening the top to the base. This system is designed to allow the top to expand in the wet seasons and shrink in the dry seasons - preventing the top from eventually cracking. Tops like these could change in size by roughly 1” depending on the climate where they are kept. Anyway - I’m very grateful for everyone’s interest in these tables, and I’m happy to say that the Oak table has sold! Someone go get that walnut table, it’ll last you a lifetime. #woodworking #customfurniture #furnituredesign #handmade #woodshop #workshop #builder #woodwork #tools

“Table 4 - 2” Two intimate (2’X4’) dinner tables designed to seat two. This was a month long design and build! I’ll be delivering these tomorrow (12/6) to @louieandhoneysmarket where they will be available for sale! Too many details to address in one go but maybe I’ll make a substack post about it?? #woodworking #handmade #joinery #woodwork #woodshop #furniture #design #customfurniture

Putting the Strange Kid all tube dual tremolo through its paces. Both harmonic and amplitude tremolo. - All tube tremolo. - Tube preamp and output buffer - Linear regulated high voltage power supply. Dual tremolo selectable between bias mod and harmonic tremolo, and that it’s an all tube design.

Best way I’ve found to make prototype faceplates without learning how to screen print. They come out looking a little worn unless you really take your time but I kind of like that. #tremolo #harmonictremolo #tubeamp #guitaramp #guitareffect #guitar #guitarplayer #recordingstudio #recordingengineer #audioengineer #soundengineer #analogaudio #homestudio #tubeaudio #recordinggear

A pair of chunky workbenches designed to be super fast to build, sturdy, and clampable. No glue or joinery in sight. Except I did glue up the first one because I doubted myself. These are so simple that looking at them is as good as having the blueprint. Cut sheet is on the last slide. You could also do casters instead of leveling feet. Pictured here after about 8 months of abuse. Tremolos are being built on these 👾 #woodworking #furniture #wooddesign #woodshop #workbench

I flew out west to buy a dream truck of mine with one of my best friends. The ~3000 mile road trip home was great, but the best part was hanging with @noah.dane Maybe this needs to be a yearly tradition.

“TREMOLO” A project I started one year ago when Charlie Hunter approached me about making a stand alone tremolo box. The idea was for it to be extremely portable and switchable between Bias Mod and Harmonic tremolo types. That prototype became a guitar and Rhodes staple in the studio instantly and I honestly hated handing it over to Charlie 😂 The initial prototype took roughly four months to complete - every moment of work on this project since then has been preparing that initial design to be repeatable and hopefully affordable. We whipped up a couple desks and a third of the studio became a lab to help facilitate all this madness. Prototype #2 will be done within a couple of weeks and what you see (slide 2 & 3) is 90% of what the production unit will be. All tube, ~300V linear regulated B+ rails, switchable between Bias Mod and Harmonic tremolo, as much as possible has been USA sourced, no shortcuts cut corners or cheap parts. Handmade by me in North Carolina. ~$1200 Stay tuned for a pre order link. • #guitargear #proaudio #guitarplayer #tubeaudio #guitareffects #charliehunter #rhodes #fenderrhodes #tubeamp #gearporn #producer #audioengineer #recordingengineer #tremolo #harmonictremolo
