Julianne Moore says the current state of the world has changed the kinds of projects she wants to take on. The actress shared that she’s no longer interested in films centered around violence or exaggerated drama, especially during “a time where things are rough globally.” “I’m less and less interested in tragedy, I would say,” Moore explained. “And I think that, particularly now at a time when things are rough globally, it’s very difficult for me to invest in a story that I think is pretend, where I feel like the depth of the emotion, and the measure of it, doesn’t measure up to what’s happening in the world. And I feel like I don’t want to engage with it.” Moore also opened up about why action-heavy storytelling no longer resonates with her creatively. “I don’t like easy stakes. I don’t like someone being murdered. I don’t like explosions and guns. I don’t like histrionics. I don’t like things that raise the stakes without real feeling underneath. I mean, that actually bothers me because that’s like noise. I don’t know how to play it. We’re happy to be the sous-chefs of a bunch of shows that people could love,” Tierney shared, and honestly, it’s clear fans want more from this world! Besides Rachel Reid’s upcoming ‘Unrivaled’ novel, there’s several stories beyond the ‘Game Changers’ series that could also be explored. 👀 Reid tells Deadline, “I’ve been spoiled by how good an adaptation can be… I’ll be particular about who adapts those, but I would love for it to happen.” Tierney is currently working on Season 2 of the hit series, which picks up right after Season 1 and dives deeper into themes of codependency, mental health, and the realities of sustaining love in the spotlight.
