Been double preggo with baby and my new album since a while;) Now album is finally out and belly is growing and growing! @kotelett.music and I got to share it live for the very first time last night and we couldn‘t have asked for a more beautiful experience! I was very nervous at first, never had shared my lyrics and vocals in such a personal and vulnerable way before..so thank you for coming out and taking your time! Die Gleichzeitigen lm Leben.
Reflecting after my gig in NYC. Which brought so many contradictory thoughts to mind. Playing at a club ‚Signal’ in Brooklyn that an old friend from Cologne has helped bring to life felt incredibly rewarding and inspiring. A place that feels like the real kind of oldschool clubbing without phones or fancy tableservice, instead focussed on a good soundsystem, affordable ticket prices and friendly people. A safe place.
At the same time this place is in the USA, a country where a innocent 37year old mother just got shot by ICE agents. Their behaviour reminding us of the SS during the Nazi-years in Germany. This country has a government that rallies against immigrants, against queer and trans people, that wants to abolish abortion, that only supports the rich..it’s a place that - right now - stands for so much oppression and suffering. So why am I here? Is it right to be here? Is there a right or wrong? How do we behave in these crazy times?
I ask myself this everyday..hoping that I can - at the very least - use my social media presence to inspire others to speak up and to connect and discuss and support. I still believe that music brings us together and that by sharing music we can find moments to hold and comfort each other and - also to unite in resistance. Resistance against forces that are trying to keep us small. Forces that don‘t know how strong we are, together, as a unit. Watch Iran right now!

The year is coming to an end..remembering all the wonderful (and sometimes weird;)) moments that we experienced together..and feeling so so thankful to all people that showed up to my sets and helped me set the house on fire..not always easy juggeling mama-self of a 2 year old with the rest of my life..so am feeling so lucky for gigs like these..a night in Mexico with @polifonic.mx ..where everything came together in perfect harmony...thank you thank you thank you xoxoxo
