Eine Bassistin und eine Schlagzeugerin, beide singen: Das Duo Ester Poly rüttelt mit gepfefferten Songs und rauem Sound am Nerv der Zeit. Die Energie von Rock’n’Roll, Psychedelik und Noise mischt sich mit Elektronik und Improvisation. Das geht gut und süffig ins Ohr, aber hält auch Menschen bei der Stange, die es schräg und experimentell lieben. Ester Poly wissen, wie sie die Welt möchten: Gleichberechtigter, diverser, lustvoller, menschlicher. Davon erzählen ihre Songs. Das drückt ihre Spielfreude aus. Das macht ihre Performance sinnlich. The official «Ester Poly - Sin via en Tunesia» tour is over. However, on March 14th, the film will be shown again at Kino Cameo in Winterthur. After the film, we will perform a live soundtrack for the silent film „Schatten, eine nächtliche Halluzination“.
A big thank you to everyone who attended one of the evenings. We had a wonderful time and truly appreciate the exchange with all of you! A huge thanks also goes to all the organizers and to the director Manuela Steiner. Without Manuela, we wouldn’t have the film or the tour. Ester Poly are Martina Berther (electric bass, voc, Zurich) and Béatrice Graf (drums, voc, Geneva). Since 2013, the two musicians have been expanding the possibilities of the bass - drum - tandem. Rock, peppered with a pinch of the unexpected. Their influences come from improvised music and jazz. The mix results in a freshly squeezed Ester Poly juice with a bitter socially critical aftertaste. To be tasted on the new album WET or live at SGZ, Day 2.
