It has been such a pleasure and hard work to do this project during the last eight month in collaboration with fantastic people. We have all worked very much on a very small budget. I am overwhelmed with the result! Grateful for the beautiful and thorough graphic work by @anni.vestergaard , highly dedicated text editing by @alison_k_hines , new fantastic and engaged text contributions by @mathiasdanbolt and @jenny_graser and a wonderful written conversation with @lexmorglan that pushed me to put more words to what I do.

“Ester Fleckner: I navigate in collisions” is a monograph presenting selected works from the first ten years of the Fleckner’s career, 2013 to 2023.
The artist employs abstraction to challenge the recognizable, the finished, and the categorized. Integrating queer and trans perspectives, their work addresses language, desire, and spheres of relation in open-ended and poetic ways. Fleckner’s practice centers on woodcut printing—a simple, slow, physical technique that allows for differences, errors, and a loss of control—but also extends to cast concrete sculptures, text works, and drawings.
This publication includes new text contributions by the art historian Mathias Danbolt (@mathiasdanbolt ) and the curator and art historian Jenny Graser (@jenny_graser ), and a conversation between Fleckner and the scholar and curator Lex Morgan Lancaster (@lexmorglan ).

Transformation of our old barn into my future studio on Møn. A lot is happening on the renovation this year. Currently fixing the foundation, soon ready to build up a new floor. It is hard and fun work and I am so pleased to get help from our family members not least my dad with his creative skills and endless energy! 💙🔨

I am deeply grateful and thrilled for having received a three-year work grant from the Danish Arts Foundation!
I can now immerse myself full time in my artistic practise for a long period of time. Thank you so much!!!
