Last Friday our entrepreneurship students joined the first Pressure Cooker workshop at the HvA Venture Centre.
For the first time, we included a workshop like this in the ESP Entrepreneurship course and it worked really well.
Instead of jumping straight to solutions, students spent the morning exploring frustrations and situations they noticed during internships, classes, and healthcare practice and asking: What is actually the problem here?
One line from the workshop stayed with us: “Fall in love with the problem, not the solution.”
Really nice to see how interactive the session became naturally, with students building on each other’s ideas throughout the morning.
Big thanks to Romaike, the HvA Venture Centre, and all students who joined us #espamsterdam
There is a moment in this video where you realise ESP25 is not really about 25
years.
It is about the people who kept showing up for them.
The lecturers.
The students.
The stories.
The international chaos.
The very specific ESP energy.
Marleen gets it.
And somehow, so does the sweater 😂#espamsterdam #esp25
Happy King's Day to our ESP community 🧡👑
Today is the only day you can sell something you don’t need… to someone who probably doesn’t need it either.
And somehow, it still works. There is something honest about that.
No plan. Just trying and seeing what happens.
Enjoy the day.

It looks like nothing is happening here. Just a pause. But this is often where things come together.
Where the body adjusts after what it just did. Quiet, but not empty.
Wishing our students, alumni, staff, and friends a happy Easter
From our ESP community in Amsterdam. #espamsterdam
The EBP4 conference on Tuesday brought together a full day of research, discussion, and different perspectives on movement.
From VR training and breathing techniques to music, balance, and stretching, a wide range of topics was explored throughout the program
Congratulations to both the jury and audience for selecting the same winning study: “The Impact of Barefoot Walking on Stride Length.”
Sometimes, a simple idea is all it takes to stand out.
Thank you to everyone involved in making the day a success.

From campus by day to celebration by night, ESP25 is taking shape.
On Friday 18 September 2026, ESP25 brings the community together in Amsterdam for a full day built around past, present, future.
From 09:00-16:30 at the HvA campus, the day programme will focus on the story of ESP: where it began, how it evolved, and how different generations of the community have shaped it along the way. In the afternoon, the programme shifts into a more interactive format, with workshops, demonstrations, and shared activity that bring today’s ESP energy to life.
From 19:30, the evening programme continues at WestWeelde, where the anniversary moves into reunion, connection, and music.
Full programme details coming soon. Tickets open on April 1. Keep an eye on your inbox for the ticket heads-up and your personalized ticket link. To make sure alumni, students, and staff each get a fair chance during the early bird window, tickets will be released through category-based access, with one ticket per person within each quota category. #esp25 #espamsterdam
“My recovery from a meniscus tear introduced me to physiotherapy and I realised I wanted to do this for others.”
“After competing in elite sport, I saw how injuries can stop athletes’ dreams. I want to help them come back stronger.”
“Physiotherapy combines science, empathy, and human connection. That’s what inspires me.”
These are just a few voices from the 429 applicants representing 62 countries who applied to join the upcoming ESP Class of 2029.
Different stories.
Different backgrounds.
One shared motivation: helping people move better.
When we read through the applications, almost everyone spoke about wanting to help others.
Most connected their story to sport, injury, or lived experience with the body.
Ages range from 19 to 52.
Career changers sit alongside school leavers.
Coaches, assistants, dancers, volunteers. All called to the same field.
Soon many of them will meet for the first time during our ESP Summer Course.
Six continents. Dozens of languages.
Applications from Ireland to South Africa, China to Chile, Jordan to Australia.
From small island communities to major global cities, each path into physiotherapy is personal.
A truly international class. One shared purpose. #espamsterdam
Something is in the air...
We’ve spent the last few weeks thinking about the paths you’ve taken. From coastlines to city centers, from small clinics to major hospitals, the ESP community is everywhere.
You built careers. You crossed borders. You carried the hoodie further than we ever imagined.
Now, we’re sending out a signal.
On September 18, the map shrinks back to Amsterdam.
One Friday. Twenty-five years of stories coming back together in the city where it all began.
We’re preparing a journey that honors the classroom and the clinic alike.
Save the date: 18.09.26
Amsterdam.
We know where you are. Now we’d love to see you here.

Before Selection Day starts, there are people on the other side of the screen.
Lecturers preparing carefully, setting aside time, and getting ready to meet you with attention and curiosity. Selection Day is not about catching mistakes, but about understanding how you think and how you work with new information.
If you are preparing for tomorrow, keep it simple. Rest well, read calmly, and take things step by step. Curiosity matters more than perfection.
Good luck to everyone joining tomorrow. #espamsterdam
We said, “just one quick photo” 😉
Behind the scenes, we’re working on a September celebration for 25 years of ESP. Some parts are carefully planned. Some parts still look like this. Both are part of the process.
Date, venue, and tickets coming soon.
