April showers bring May flowers – and another wonderful ESL Spring Forum! Our semiannual forums are open to all employees and held at unique Rochester venues. As always, the evening was filled with fun, business updates, networking, and delicious food.
This forum marked a special milestone for Tom Rogers, as it was his first as our new President and CEO. It proved to be a great opportunity for our team to learn more about Tom and his vision for ESL.

We’re pleased to announce that we have officially surpassed $10 billion in assets. Steady growth helped fuel this momentous milestone for us, as we expanded our branch network, implemented new digital capabilities, and continued to strengthen our relationships with the members and businesses we serve.
As we enter this new chapter of our history, we remain committed to shared success. We’ll continue to reinvest in the community we’ve called home for more than 100 years through initiatives like Owners’ Dividend, Community Impact philanthropic grants, and support for small businesses and homeownership.

Our Young Professionals Employee Resource Group (ERG) recently hosted its third annual Speaker Series event. This year’s speaker, Julie Camardo, CEO, @zweigles , offered great insights – from telling the history of Zweigle’s to sharing helpful advice for young professionals who are navigating their career.
Thank you to Julie, our Young Professionals ERG, and all the attendees for making this a wonderful evening!
Together with @cityofrochesterny and @racf4change , we’re pleased to celebrate the recipients of the second round of Neighbors in Action (NIA) funding. Through this collaborative approach, 74 resident-led projects will receive more than $298,000 in grants. This latest round of funding is inclusive of initiatives, such as CPR training, youth programs, and neighborhood cleanups, and will span all four quadrants of the city.
We’re grateful to work alongside partners, like the City of Rochester and Rochester Area Community Foundation, who share a passion for uplifting our community, and inspired by the residents who brought forward these meaningful ideas to help transform their neighborhoods. We can’t wait to see the positive change that will result from these collective efforts.

As a Bilingual Universal Banker at our Goodman Office, Julianie Morales understands that communication is key when it comes to helping our members. She acknowledged that some members may feel overwhelmed when there is a language barrier; however, by communicating with them in a different language, she’s able to better understand their needs and ensure they feel supported and heard. To her, it’s all about helping members feel more confident. She loves teaching people about different products and solutions so they can make informed decisions about their finances.
Thank you, Julianie, for your commitment to providing our members with exceptional customer service!

We’re excited to embark on a new chapter at ESL, as we officially welcome Tom Rogers as our President and CEO. Tom succeeds previous President and CEO, Faheem Masood, who announced his intent to retire in October 2025.
“I’m pleased to lead ESL into the next chapter of growth and prosperity, while remaining true to our core values and commitment to delivering superior experiences,” stated Tom. “It’s a privilege to lead an organization so deeply committed to its mission, and I look forward to the work to support our customers, invest in our community, and create lasting connections across our service area.”
A member of our team since 2013, Tom began his ESL career journey as Chief Financial Officer. In 2022, he assumed the Marketplace Director responsibilities, which includes leadership of our Product Development, Marketing, Retail Banking, Business Banking, Mortgage Lending, and Wealth Management lines of business, and most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining ESL, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer for Broadstone Real Estate, LLC.
According to Erin Tolefree, Chair, ESL Board of Directors, “Tom is an exemplary leader who lives the ESL core values throughout his work. On behalf of the board, we have full confidence Tom will continue to guide the organization through sustainable growth and build upon the strong foundation already in place.”
