The honest answer is: it depends. Cloth diapering is not all or nothing! Your stash size comes down to how you plan to use it, and whether youâre going full-time cloth diapering or just doing it part-time alongside disposables.
For full-time cloth, most families start with around 24 diapers for a newborn stash, then adjust as baby grows and your wash routine settles in.
But if youâre using cloth part-time, youâll need far fewer, and can build slowly as you go. The key is not overthinking it. Start with what fits your rhythm, and adjust from there.
