Strong. Mobile. Resilient. That’s the goal. Over the last year, I’ve deepened my study of Structural Integration through the Tom Myers method — learning more about strength, mobility, exercise, injury, and how the body functions as one connected system through the fascial system. I’ve really started to understand movement, injuries, and performance goals on a deeper level. The more I learn, the more I see that progress isn’t just about pushing harder. It’s about balance. Strength and recovery. Load and support. Effort and awareness. Massage and bodywork play a huge role in that process. Whether your goal is to lift stronger, move better, run pain-free, feel more athletic, or simply stay active as you age — recovery massage can be an important part of moving with ease. Taking care of your body isn’t separate from training. It’s part of training. I’m excited to keep blending hands-on bodywork with a deeper understanding of movement and structure. If you would like to book in with me DM or link to website in bio!

Bodywork is an opportunity to connect inward. The body, like this picture, holds stillness and movement at the same time. When I’m working with someone on the table, it’s rarely just about muscles or releasing tension. As the fascia releases and glides, tension dissolves and the nervous system begins to regulate. Something deeper opens. In that space… there’s an opportunity. To connect to something subtle. Something intelligent. Something that has always been there. Eventually, there’s a moment where you’re not “doing” anything anymore — you’re simply being. This is the space that so many traditions, practices, and religions try to describe. Not something outside of us, but within us. Something we feel when we surrender. Surrender… is both the most natural and the most challenging thing for us. We’re so busy in our modern world. So to truly let go — to allow the body to drop into stillness, to trust the process — can feel unfamiliar. Uncomfortable at first. But on the other side of that is a sense of oneness. A sense of clarity. A sense of coming back home. There’s a holiness to it, everyone’s experience is unique but there is defiantly a common thread to it and is often more similar than different. When we give ourselves the space/time to access this part of our being, the benefits throughout the way we move, the way we think, the way we relate, the way we live. This is something I’ve come to understand not just through study, but through years of practice. Through yoga. Through meditation. But most of all, through massage. Massage has taught me how to listen. How to not hold judgment. How to be present. How to trust what I feel beneath my hands. I know anatomy. I understand certain techniques, certain “keys” within the body. But beyond that… a subtle conversation is being spoken. Every session is different. Every body is different. But the intention remains the same — to support the body in finding its way back to balance, to ease, to connection. Massage has been my greatest teacher. Because through it, I’ve experienced — again and again — that what we’re all really searching for isn’t outside of us. It’s within.

Mind-Body Connection: What Does This Mean? The mind and body are not separate entities; they interact continuously. Mental states can affect physical health, and physical conditions can impact our mental state . The intricate relationship between our mental processes and physical health, and vice versa, is at the forefront of holistic health medicine. Eastern traditions, such as yoga and TCM , have emphasized the interconnectedness of mind and body for centuries, advocating for a balanced approach. While Western medicine has historically focused more on treating physical ailments, there is a growing recognition of the importance of mental health in physical healing. Here’s a more detailed exploration of this concept: 1. Psychological Influences on our Physical Health: Mental Chronic stress can lead to various physical conditions, stress response can trigger inflammation in the body. 2.Emotional stresses: negative emotions may lead to physical symptoms. 3. Neuroscience the Brain-Body Connection: The brain communicates with the body through the nervous system. This communication affects everything from heart rate to digestion to immune response. 2. Physical Influences on Mental Health Daily Physical activity releases endorphins, this can improve mood and reduce anxiety and depression. In essence, the mind-body connection is profound. If we maintain practices daily that strengthen this connection we are building our own internal resource that we can rely-on to support us in the most diverse circumstances not only outwardly in a external environments but internally too. Effective Practices to Strengthen the Mind-Body Connection include: Regular Exercise, meditation, grounding techniques by the likes of my fave @earth.altering , Healthy Eating, Self-Care, and of course what I have personally found most effective utilising the knowledge of a holistic health practitioners like massage therapist, osteopath physic, chiropractor, or kinesiology. Spending at least 1session every 4-6 weeks with a holistic health practitioner can be the perfect guide to engage with and communicate with your mind-body connection. book in with me 1-2weeks ahead via the link in bio 🤎

How often should I have a massage ? Is a question I get asked a lot, the timing between a holistic/remedial massage can really influence the benefits you experience. Ideally, the space between each massage should be tailored to your individual needs and lifestyle, but here are some general guidelines to consider 1. Weekly Sessions- If you’re dealing with chronic tension, stress, or specific health issues, weekly massages can be super effective, help manage pain, promote rest and recovery, This frequency allows for the benefits of the consistency game to really shine. or your just a massage lover, have found the therapist of your dreams and don’t need to be asked twice! 2.Biweekly Sessions- For those seeking relaxation, love saying goodbye to the outside world retreating inwards to your own “inner domain” or just maintenance of general wellness, biweekly sessions allow enough time for your body to integrate the benefits of the massage while still keeping tension and stress at bay. 3.Monthly Session- If you’re generally healthy have a few other self care rituals going on at home, and enjoy taking 1hr of your time in a month for yourself, monthly sessions are perfect! This allows you to enjoy the benefits without feeling overwhelmed or financially strained. Or you don’t have any self care routine, your barely finding 1hr free so your last resort is to bring the kids in let them have screen time for 1hr while you randomly find a spare 1hr in your month to release some of that tension you know has been sitting in your shoulders your whole life. 4. Listen to Your Body- Ultimately, the best indicator of how much space to leave between sessions is how you feel. Pay attention to how your body responds after a massage. If you notice tension returning quickly, you might benefit from more frequent sessions. Conversely, if you feel great and relaxed, extending the time between massages works too. 5. Ask your massage therapist - Your massage therapist can offer personalized advice based on your body’s response and specific needs. They can help you find the right frequency that maximizes benefits while fitting into your lifestyle.

~Myofascial release~ There is so much to be learned about our own intricate web of the fascia system in the world of body therapies. There is new research that is changing the way we look at our bodies and the interconnection between it all! this intricate web that is the connective tissue that is within our muscles it encases our muscle and connects muscles to tendons, tendons to bones, and it encases our organs. It holds everything within our system in place and also what makes it move. The techniques used for fascia release work involve very particular pressure—gentle and sustained. the role in which our fascia plays not only real easing our body tension helping with injuries and releasing but also in helping us release certain holding patterns emotionally. The effect the fascia system has on our nervous system, our relationship with our own thoughts and feelings are significant. I am only just scratching the tip of the iceberg. Myofascial therapy has been a transformative therapy in my own experience and in what I have witnessed when applying it to many of my clients. I’m away for the next 2 weeks! You can book online via bio link for end of October (mobile massage) or @bodyandspineco_au Mon, Tues, Wed

~ common misconceptions about relaxation, tension release, and finding your place of ease~ Relaxation, tension release, self-care, and consciousness are unique to each individual. Your approach to how you meet these aspects within yourself, from what I’ve seen with clients, varies across a very large spectrum! But I’m happy we are all different; it makes life interesting. It’s how we all grow and evolve. Everyone is different; there is no one way to find your path to health and ease in life. Your individual approach and awareness are perfect for you! Our different ways are part of the great mystery…. We are here to learn and evolve together. 1. Tension Isn’t Always Bad: Some tension is a natural response and can serve protective functions. 2. Relaxation Takes Time: Deep relaxation often requires practice and consistency. 3. Relaxation Isn’t a Waste of Time: It enhances productivity and overall well-being. 4. Flexibility Doesn’t Equal Relaxation: Flexibility can coexist with tension; true relaxation involves mental and emotional well-being. 5. One Size Doesn’t Fit All: Explore various relaxation techniques to find what works for you. 6. Pain Isn’t Always Physical: Emotional stress can contribute to physical tension. 7. You Can Practice Independently: Techniques like deep breathing and mindfulness can be integrated into daily life. 8. Calmness Isn’t Required: Relaxation practices can induce calm, even in stressful situations. 9. Ongoing Practice Is Key: Regular practice is essential to maintain relaxation benefits. book a treatment with me, in the comfort of your home. Click the link to my website above in the 👆 bio. ~Lymphatic drainage~ I love including lymphatic drainage into my treatments where I can and when I can, it’s such a vital system in our body that often gets overlooked in a regular massage! With the benefits getting recognised by the globe, It’s why the holistic approach is the way forward to not just focus on one aspect of the body but recognising the interrelationship between all systems of the body & treating accordingly. How Does Lymphatic Drainage Massage Work? Lymphatic drainage massage is a gentle technique that helps your body heal and detoxify! Here’s how it works: 1. Gentle Pressure: Using light, rhythmic strokes, in one direction always moving towards the heart, the massage encourages lymph fluid to flow through the lymphatic vessels. 2. Stimulates Lymph Nodes, main lymph node areas include neck, armpits, chest, abdomen (belly) and groin. The strokes activate the lymph nodes to filter out toxins and waste, boosting your immune system. 3. Reduces Swelling: By promoting fluid movement, it helps reduce swelling and puffiness in the body. 4. Enhances Circulation: Improved circulation means better oxygen and nutrient delivery to your cells. 5. Promotes Relaxation: The soothing technique helps you relax and reduce stress! Provides a gentleness the nervouse system will relish in! Experience the benefits of lymphatic drainage massage for a healthier, revitalized you! ~The Holistic way ~ Holistic comes from ‘holos’, the Greek word for whole, and holistic therapies aim to positively affect our entire body. The therapist is able to recognize the various body systems, including the skeletal system, muscular system, circulatory system, digestive system, nervous system, reproductive system, lymphatic system, and respiratory system, treating them both individually and simultaneously. There are many benefits of holistic massage, even more so than regular massages, because they truly focus on your whole body. Some of the benefits include helping with anxiety, reducing stress, improving sleep, alleviating muscle tension, and boosting your immune system. Holistic massages guide a client’s focus inward and address how they are feeling within themselves. You are likely to concentrate on how you feel, including different parts of your body that may be in pain. Holistic massage can also help you address individual ailments within mind & body. This inward space will help your mind reflect on any problems you have in a neutral environment. A holistic massage can allow emotional, physical, mental, or spiritual situations to surface while feeling at ease with the supportive hands of the therapist! The techniques I use throughout my holistic massage treatments include: - Deep tissue release - Acupressure - Remedial massage - Craniosacral therapy - Myofascial release - Lymphatic drainage - Abdominal massage - Scar release - Craniosacral therapy (nervous system regulation) I believe creating a healthy relationship with ourselves in order for us to show up as our best selves for ourselves, family, friends & the wider community, slowing down, a Holistic massage, time away, zen time, and connecting to the more inward part of ourselves—the yin to our yang connection—is paramount to all aspects of our health I love being able to support people in this space, and contributing positively to someone’s wellness and inward time, truly is the space I love most To book a treatment with me, link in bio PS if your in sydney from 24th Feb - 11th March book via @the__calmm spots available now, I’ll be there
