Just back from an incredible trip to China after several flight hiccups with @slowdiveofficial . It was a pleasure to play with these guys with whom I’m better known for being their Tour Manager on and off since 2018 and also a big fan of their music. I took on both roles this time around as drummer and TM which was a bit of a challenge, but apart from the occasional lapse of memory (it’s my age!) having to learn 16 songs in a short amount of time, I think I managed to pull it off. Such an enjoyable experience overall and thanks also to their lovely fans who made me feel really welcome. I was back on in ear monitors for this run which was a bit nerve wracking but a fine combination of @cosmicears CE6B’s and the incredible skills of my dear friend and monitor engineer @dskelton81 didn’t let me down. Time for a short break now to let my ticker recover before getting back on the road with @castbandofficial for the summer. Shanghai to Beijing via train today. The effects of the lag mean I’m starting to feel a bit wobbly in the mornings here. Like tripping crazy. My son @flynn.0neill has been over here on his own independent adventure and it was great to see him at the show last night and I feel a real proudness to see him out here. A stunning little 7 mile trot around the frozen Davosersee this morning. Bit slippy in some parts and almost face planted a couple of times but the fresh air and high altitude (around 1600m above SL) made for a great lung workout. The scenery is just magnificent. Got a couple of days here in Davos now before heading home again. No chance I’m skiiing again, as the last time I tried it I tore my ACL and managed to dislocate my thumb because I put my hand out to stop the fall 😬😬 #tourmanager #artonice #running #cold
