Erna Skúladóttir often engages with themes of time, geology, and environmental transformation, documenting the subtle yet profound impact of climate change on natural forms. Erna works with glacial and geological time, capturing the slow movements and transformations of Iceland’s landscapes. Her installations document the intersection of climate change and natural history, asking viewers to contemplate the scale and fragility of environments shaped over millennia. Snæbjörnsdóttir/Wilson are an Icelandic–British artist duo whose collaborative practice investigates human–nonhuman relationships through research-driven installations, photography, video, and text. They explore the cultural and ecological implications of species displacement, extinction, and conservation. Their acclaimed projects reveal the complexities and contradictions in human attitudes toward nature. Both artists/duo will exhibit in Sediment and Signal at @nordichouseiceland during Sequences XII. #SequencesXII #PauseSequences #ReykjavikArt #ContemporaryArt @sequencesartfestival

At The Nordic House (@nordichouseiceland ), “Sediment and Signal” presents works that reveal the tempo of non-human life, from microscopic growth to geological change, inviting us to see time on a scale far beyond our own. The exhibition features works by: Ragna Róbertsdóttir (@ragnarobertsdottir ) Rhoda Ting & Mikkel Bojesen (@ting_bojesen ) Bryndís Snæbjörnsdóttir & Mark Wilson (@brynsnae )(@markwilson9539 ) Erna Skúladóttir (@ernaskula ) Thomas Pausz (@thomaspausz ) Pétur Thomsen (@peturthomsen ) Wauhaus (@wauhaushelsinki ) Julie Sjöfn Gasiglia (@julie_sjofn_gasiglia ) The exhibition reflects on natural systems, cycles, and the traces of time embedded in the environment. ______ “Setminni” í Norræna húsinu sýnir verk sem varpa ljósi á takt náttúrunnar, allt frá örsmáum vexti til jarðfræðilegra umbreytinga sem hvetja okkur til að sjá tímann á skala sem nær langt út fyrir þann mannlega. Sýningin speglar náttúruleg kerfi, hringrásir og spor tímans í umhverfinu. #SequencesXII #PauseSequences #ReykjavikArt #ContemporaryArt @sequences_art_festival Artwork: Rhoda Ting & Mikkel Bojesen, Deep Time, 2023. Beautiful summer with kid, dog, studio, food, family and friends, and also a lot of alone time and snoozing ❤️ The health is always on the up, not always as fast as I would have liked, a big lesson in patience and letting go, not always easy. Some side effects from the treatment linger and my energy is often low and anxieties high. This summer has been all about finding balance, spending and recharging energy ✨ #havanese

Its not everyday one wakes up with a river in the backyard 🌊 When my grandmother was growing up there was a clear stream of water here. When a new bridge was built some 40 years ago all flooding through this stream stopped so sediments have been collecting and building up for decades and growth of grass and plants as well, almost becoming swamp like. We are very excited to see if this cleans out the sediments in the bottom and restores the stream, for a while at least. Its an important place for birds and wildlife. Following the changes in the environment around the house are what makes my heart always beat a bit faster and slower at the same time. Just amazing to see what the seasons bring. First and last pictures are taken at approximately same place. (All houses and people are safe)

Æter / Aether opens at KunstCentret Silkeborg Bad on Saturday ✨ It’s been a very good and healing process for me and working towards it with Ane and Vinni has been an amazing experience. A perfect way to get back into the real world, even though Silkeborg in the snow is really unreal ❤️ @silkeborgbad @anefabriciusstudio @vinnifrederiksen

Last few months have been a lot of things. I finished my last round of oral chemo few months ago and graduated from my cancer treatment with a clear scan some weeks ago. The biggest relief of my life ☺️ post treatment life still takes time to adjust to, there are ups and downs and all sorts of anxieties to deal with but I feel extremely thankful and happy for having reached this milestone, and mostly so thankful for my life ❤️ Now I am concentrating on getting up my energy and slowly getting back to some version of myself. I have taken a long break from being able to create but am now starting to feel the urge to make something again. Two weeks ago I turned forty and feel grateful for every year and every day (living all the clichés these day 😅). I had a party with a lot of friends and family and then celebrated with my twin in an unforgettable London trip where we did almost nothing but eat, walk and talk 🥰🎉
