For Idiot Film Club No. 5, we’re going back to the 20th century and reaching across the pond to show Rowan Atkinson’s 1992 lecture — Laughing Matters (Visual Comedy) - from the BBC documentary series Funny Business. You probably know him as Mr Bean, but Atkinson is a master of many forms of comedy relevant to clown. This documentary lecture covers the various theories and ā€œrulesā€ of physical comedy outlining their history throughout the 1900s in the US, UK and beyond. Settle in on a couch/chair and watch this hour long film with other clowns and comedy enthusiasts. Then stick around after to discuss and share your thoughts and opinions with everyone. Is it still relevant today or outdated with regard to modern avant garde clown? No wrong answers! Thursday April 16th 7pm - Mingle w/ snacks 8pm - Film (50min) 9pm - Clown Discussion RSVP link in bio (And if you’re feeling a bit of DĆ©jĆ  vu, we announced this film for April but changed plans to see Snowy Bing Bongs at Nitehawk Cinema instead)
