Forever grateful that the 2016 versions (➡️) understood “lifelong” as much as the 2026 versions.

“A dog lives fifteen years, if you’re lucky.” - Mary Oliver
And how lucky was I to have the best best-friend for the past 15 years? I’ll love you for always, Eloisey.
Well, in my heart you pay no rent
Don’t cost you nothing, not a single cent
Time together, well, it’s time well spent
In my heart you pay no rent
In my heart you pay no rent
Somehow we ended up IN the parade yesterday, operating the confetti cannons right in front of the Champ’s bus. (Swipe to see my shaky version of the iconic Gates of Time photo.)
I was excited to celebrate the team that I love, but I didn’t know I would be so emotional. I didn’t expect the version of me whose classroom shook 30 years ago to burst into tears the moment that bus turned the corner.
30 years is a long time. I’m grateful for these collective healing moments that keep finding their way home to us in OKC.
We remember.
We also rejoice and celebrate. Won for the city, indeed.
