We did a takeover on @ronlikehell radio show The Space Between Spaces for our @thelotradio debut. Big thanks to Ron for hosting us, was very cool to be in the booth when we’ve watched many of our favorite dj’s play on the Lot for so many years prior. @erik_void opens up Bad Room for our 1 year anniversary at @goodroombk . With a background in percussion, and ongoing explorations of modular synthesis, Erik Braun is a techno DJ and producer, drawn to a track selection that heavily features tight grooves, abstract textures, and hypnotic tones. He is also a co-founder of the ongoing party series, @redirect_nyc at Good Room and label head of @nulrecords . Skoglund is a Brooklyn-based techno DJ, producer, and live performer. Since learning to DJ on vinyl, his practice has been dedicated to honoring techno’s past in the present day. His sets explore long-form transitions, atmosphere, and subtle movement through heavy, raw, and hypnotic elements. Heavy Waste is proud to welcome Holden Federico (@90stechno.redux ) to its first club night at Bossa on February 27th. As a producer and DJ, Holden Federico strives to reimagine techno by pushing its essential elements to new extremes. His productions are characterized by driving low-end energy, vivid themes, and dub detailing with a foundation of grit and soul. As a DJ, Holden blends diverse textures, smart pacing, and a reverence for the past in his vision for a modern dance floor that equally emphasizes physical and emotional experience. Supporting slots will be handled by Heavy Waste residents HNDRNC, Skoglund, and Erik Braun. Skoglund & Erik Braun warm up the night with a b2b drawing with their deep selections, ranging from raw and hypnotic sounds to tight grooves. HNDRNC takes us home, closing out the night with a palette that features pushing, high energy rhythms and sophisticated layering.

Thank you everyone for coming to @silobrooklyn on Thursday, what a blast! Gratitude to @primordian.dj for mesmerically setting the mood deeply, @ko_an.music for leading the midnight crossing with an especially interstellar transmission, the propulsive @erik_void for hypnotically painting out the penultimate slot and yes, for concocting that acid-infused night cap at close, even @_lorenzob , who now thanks himself in the third-person. Thank you too to the many new dancers discovering our party for the first time – nothing excites us more – and the venue for their hospitality and opportunity to curate upon their powerful sound system. Our next event is in mid-February, stay tuned in the days ahead for more on that, and cheers again!

BUSH DÜF abducts @silobrooklyn for an enthralling night of cosmic, colorful and cathartic techno. Ben Zo curates another finely-tuned sequence of DJs to steward the bar room's 15K-watt Danley sound system toward astonishing vistas both celestial and terrestrial. Opening our portal is @primordian.dj , whose slippery ear for sludgy, spacey and arresting selections often have us swaying in unwavering suspense. We’ve heard him mesmerize on his @8ballradio show as well as other stocky sound systems in Greenpoint, Coney Island and many places in-between. So him halting the chin-scratchers at open felt like a no-brainer for his venue debut. @ko_an.music (fka Luwan) leads us to midnight and beyond by sketching riveting sci-fi soundscapes of tunes brilliant and buoyant alike. Threading the oneiric edges of techno, tech house and other 4x4, among others, into consistently transportative experiences of spongy, somatic rhythms, we’re eager to have her as the second 8-Ball resident for the night in what’s also her SILO debut. @erik_void then holds down the penultimate slot as our final first-timer at SILO. The @nulrecords label lead and @heavywaste_nyc co-founder is more than just a diligent and deep curator of fine techno through his @halfmoonbk radio residency and @redirect_nyc party series, but a head-turning mixer of hypnotic techno as thunderous as it is blissful. Ben Zo (@_lorenzob ) then closes with his entertaining intuition for cinematic set design across layered decks and lengthy loops. Harmonizing the familiar and esoteric into full-bodied blends that echo long after in thought, the DÜF director consistently crafts uniquely psychedelic spaces as suited to personal reflection as connecting with others.
