Earlier this year, I took the opportunity to fly up to NYC & rap in front of the legendary @realpeterock as he spun his own instrumentals at the @pendulumink showcase, presented by @mickey.factz at the @thedlnyc_ !! That night we all shared the stage with other elite emcee’s such as @corygunz @grafh @mrmecc & @math.hoffa . I also attended their graduation the following day at the @thepenthouseny , met a bunch of dope lyricists from all over the world, ate pizza at @princestreetpizza , falafels at @mamounsfalafel and then came right back to Tampa cause it was too damn cold!! Summerz Stories Pt. 5: Open Mic Nights In the very early years of my music journey, my first performances were opening for bigger, well known artists. Those shows as well as the friends & family that came out to support me, are experiences I will never forget! But eventually, these gigs started to take away from the joy I had with sharing my music. Buying & selling tickets, promoters disappearing with my money, canceled shows & riots because of overbooked venues & terrible management… One day, the homie @jazminekiante was a bartender at Bohemian Caverns in Washington DC, invited me to an open mic night that was held in the historic jazz club every week, @verses_theopenmic …I fell in love with the vibes & I quickly found out this venue was also held every week in Richmond, @tuesdayversestheopenmic …These spaces gave me a new spark & connections to lots of dope local artists.
