Recently, I decided to ditch my old website full of straight commercial work and build a new portfolio that mixes commissioned projects with personal work, editorial, travel and even some outtakes. I make pictures all the time and wanted to showcase a bit more wholistic view of what I see out there.
I had the distinct pleasure of working with Tom Claxton @claxtonprojects on the edits, whom I highly recommend as a collaborator… He brings decades of art and commerce and tasteful photography experience and has been such a pleasure to work with.

Took most of the summer off of Instagram and found myself thinking more clearly and writing a bit more. I thought it would be cool to just sink back and hide from the internet, but I missed the commentary and community of the “old” days… So I’m going to share some pictures, stories from set, interviews with some friends and who knows what else.

I know “the journey is the destination” and all, but sometimes I take that too literally. At the end of last year, I had a growing group of pictures that started feeling like one cohesive body of work, even though they were scraps from commercial jobs, long drives, family vacations or scout days. I started playing with them as a singular thing and ended up with a zine I called Scrap Country.
This year got BUSY and today I realized that I still have 200 zines sitting in a box in the studio, never shared with anybody. Nice!
So… Here’s Scrap Country. A strange little mix of Americana, sports and music from the last year or few. Lainey to Postie to Shaboozey, abandoned storefronts to the Eames House, Chicago to Yellowstone to Barstow.
