Some favorite moments from a recent project with @proclamationcoalition !
Sometimes you gotta work with what you got. That’s why you might see rebar, a maxed out light-stand, and a Lowe’s bucket holding everything together 😅. But that’s how I rock and wouldn’t want it any other way.
Thanks @annagraceceramics , @jacobfvanhorn , and @kaylavanh_ for the help.

Something little on the way 🤍
Baby Reding is coming in late June!!! The Lord’s timing is perfect, and we can’t wait to meet our baby girl. Eric already drinks from his “world’s best dad” mug every day🥹
Love this opening drone shot in the first slide! Documenting live events is tricky because you have one take. I lined up the two lead cars and made up the idea to do one long reveal shot of the mountain pass. I absolutely love how the long road is slowly revealed. It helps show the scale of what was about to be tackled in the old trucks. Improvising can pay off here and there.
These adventures are a big reason as to why I got into this field! Capturing people, their passions, and the outdoors. Pretty good mix.

I love introductions. First, we meet Owen, a world class chiller with a work ethic. Then we meet Sean, the enthusiast driving the story. Lastly, Heather, who has all the intel and lore about Sean and Owen.
Their unique characteristics play a huge role in how you connect with the story. That’s why it’s important to express personality right off the bat. How do you give context to somebody in ten seconds and a handful of shots? It’s a beautiful puzzle.
These are real people with real stories, and you get to meet them in the intro (:
For context, go watch “Back 2 Baja” on @scout_motors YouTube if you haven’t already!
BACK TO BAJA trailer. She’s live on @scout_motors YouTube!!
This story is not limited to Scout enthusiasts and desert racers. You’ll come to love a father and son bond nearly broken by a near death experience, authentic glimpses of Mexico, and a team rallying together to accomplish a seemingly impossible 1,400 mile goal. That being said, go watch! And if you just so happen to be a a desert racing Scout enthusiast, watch twice!
Wouldn’t be possible without
@vintagescoutraceprogram (driver)
@owencamera (co-driver)
@ben.vanhorn (co-director, producer)
@huntca (navigator, photo assets)
@scout_motors (sponsor)
@nash.howe (music)
It was an honor to be able to shoot and edit this project. Thank you everyone involved!!
