I believe this is my favorite picture from this season.
So often people talk about how the real magic we see on screen is created due to the dedication of the Artists just behind the camera.. those that gift their incalculable skills to create a moment as special as this. And this is truly That moment. The final shot of season 2, in a single frame, the dedication of every department, solely focused on capturing the very smallest and the very largest of things -- The peaceful and beautiful face of a sleeping baby. I am truly humbled to have been an ever so small part of these moments and being allowed to work with these spectacular artists. In whose company I can only now hope to count among my friends.

OK, another for the super fans🎬😍 Maybe the best two consecutive days we ever had on set. It was December 7 and 8, 2015. We were shooting Matryoshka pt2, episode 13 of a pretty darn good season if I do say so. Oddly it aired as episode 16 and for the life of me I can’t remember why.
We were out at dawn, up at Disney Ranch, and it was simply all around spectacular. Cows🐮, horses🐴 and snow☃️. Oh my! 🪄Penned by the greatest, Scott and Kyle, and directed by literally one of earths best humans, who we miss dearly, Terrence O’hara.
One of our many unsung heroes Brian Smith, put together this video for us a while back, and in the dog days of Summer, I’m loving the idea of sharing it with those that haven’t seen it, and didn’t have the adventure of spending these days with us. For those of us that were there, here’s a nostalgic trip to way back lane🥰. Enjoy! Eric

The final day of shooting, at lunch we gathered for the last time to watch what turned out to be an amazing retrospective of our 14 years put together by our superb post team. (I Truly hope others get to see it one day as it was so well done 👍❤️🎬.)

Hey friends! CBS is broadcasting an encore of an episode we did last fall, gifted to me by the eminently talented Andrew Bartels (Sunday 10pm). And hey, I thought it might be fun to take a little peek behind the curtain😄🎬.
I’ve posted up a few stills from the episode, AND then included a short video with some reference images and clips I used when we were finding the look of the scene. I think you will probably see the similarities.😍
Our marvelous production designer Chris Hansen was able to build a pretty awesome version of the crucible you see in the video. But take a look at the final 2 stills get a sense of how small it actually was. Life on the TV budget 😂 but with super talented friends and some Movie magic and careful angles and you can get away with murder 😎.
Anyway, check it out if u like ( plus remember there’s a couple of tremendous , Kilbride and Deeks scenes, AND it ends with one of my very favorite Mama deeks moments ever 🥲😅❤️) cheers. Eric
