Intentional marking —> Full out run
Intentional marking while learning choreography sets you up for success faster than just running through it. When you mark with purpose, you’re training your body and your brain at the same time.
100% effort doesn’t always mean going full out. Sometimes it looks like a focused walk-through—fully committed to timing, dynamics, or execution. You’re not holding back, you’re being intentional.
At the same time, full-out energy is also important. Giving high-energy runs helps you feel the intensity and presence the teacher or choreographer wants. Both can exist together—they just serve different purposes.
Intentional marks can focus on musicality, dynamics, or execution in one section while simplifying others. This builds clarity and consistency so that when you go full out, your body already knows what to do.
Training this way makes every rep purposeful and every full-out an opportunity to perform—not just survive.
