Today I share the anatomy of a photo, the puzzle wizardry every photographer does behind the curtain.For this shot we had to not only remove the TV, but seamlessly replace it with artwork. With my complicated lighting set ups this means getting it as close as possible in pre then finish it off in post. The views, the comfort, the softness, the perfectly complimenting piece of art, the custom fireplace with warm natural stone and white oak, the flowing yet tailored window treatments.. I could go on. But it's layers and details that make design come to life and make a space feel like you. This room is an all time favorite of mine. Not only because it's gorgeous and nestled in the foothills, but it also reflects the people who live(d) there. Sometimes the smallest spaces are the most challenging to light and capture the essence of. Often times these rooms are the most precious to my clients and I have to make sure I can handle whatever they throw at me. No windows, no problem.
