I watch a lot of different things while I make music to gain some inspiration. Sometimes it’s movies, old video game footage, or 1980s public access television. I had The Warriors on in the studio the other day and wondered why there was no scoring during this scene. I recorded this track live (bottom right vid) while watching this chase scene from the movie and it ended up syncing up pretty well.

I got a big surprise yesterday @safilm . The pilot script for @runnersseries won the award for Best Short Script. Huge thank you to the readers at the San Antonio Film Festival who picked up what I was putting down! You send work out into the world never knowing how or if it will connect with people. It feels great to make that connection in a place that inspired the project.
I started writing Runners just after I attended the 2019 SA Film Fest where I had a screening for a short film I wrote/directed. It’s been a long bumpy road since then (both for the project and the world) and it’s easy to get discouraged when trying to get a new project off the ground. Winning this award feels reassuring and reminds me of why I got into filmmaking, to try and tell compelling stories.
