Those of you who don’t know…Downton Abbey is probably my favorite series ever created. It’s also something that I share with my husband as one of HIS greatest loves in the world of the dramatic screen.
We also both love the character of Violet….aka Dowager Countess of Grantham…aka the late great Dame Maggie Smith.
We got to see Cotswold Farm (Cogges Manor Farm - Yewtree farm), Bampton Village (and St. Michael and all Angels church…real name St. Mary’s Church) ⛪️ and lastly, Highclere Castle (aka Downton Abbey). No photos or videos were allowed inside but we were able to take photos outside on the grounds.
It was a bit heavenly and I enjoyed every.single.moment. I thought I’d share some of that joy with you. 🏰 🫶

And yes, I might’ve been bitten by a giant opposum and turned before @dangreenvoices eyes before he had the chance to notice. Opposum people lurk everywhere if you take a moment to notice. Thankfully, @theveronicat had the antidote so I was back to normal in no time. Reliving some wonderful moments w @theericstuartband was extra special since we rarely get to panel together and remembering the gratitude I have for him bringing me into the series in the first place was nice (a snippet to be shown at another time).

In “I’ve Had the Time of My Life “ I feel such gratitude for the love we carry in our lives through memories. Nick and I used to sing at nursing homes, at his parent’s home with his beautiful accompaniment 🎹 and on the stage 🎭where we developed a love for music and theatre together in our adolescence. Now, Nick has gathered some gems from the ‘80s on his new EP entitled “Jewels from the Dynasty” and I’m honored to share song with him again.

So my teachers include people and chosen family, like stars, leading us to a magical place. One of my favorite teachers was Joan Morris of the duo Bolcom and Morris.
