The dream just became reality. ✨ This fall 2026, I’ll make my @metopera debut as Karolka in Janáček’s Jenůfa. After an incredible first season at the met covering Micaela in Carmen, I am beyond excited to make my house debut in one of the most searing, human, and heartbreakingly beautiful operas ever written. I will also cover one of my favorite Mozart leading ladies, Fiordilgi in Così fan tutte.

This November, we’re thrilled to welcome back soprano @ericapetrocelli as the radiant Musetta in "La Bohème!" While we count down to opening night, enjoy her unforgettable performance of “Du, ein strahlender Held” from Zemlinsky’s “The Dwarf.” #LAOpera #LaBoheme #SopranoSpotlight #OperaStars #MusettaMoments #OperaLovers #CountdownToCurtain

Nerves before a performance? Same. Ujjayi breathing has been a game-changer for me: making a soft, audible sound at the back of your throat as you inhale and exhale. It slows everything down and gives your mind something to hold onto. The bigger shift though? Stopping the fight against nervousness. I've learned to let it move through me like a wave. It comes, it peaks, it passes. Nerves aren't the enemy. They mean you care. Work with them, not against them. What helps you when pre-performance anxiety kicks in? #operasinger #vocalwarmup #singingtips #fitness #soprano #vocaltechnique

An aria is never really finished. It lives somewhere between the first time you pick it up and the moment you walk offstage after the final performance, and everything in between is part of the story. I love looking back at the early stages, the tambourine markings, the kitchen rehearsals, the version that didn't quite exist yet. There's something humbling and beautiful about seeing how far a piece travels before it becomes what it's meant to be.

There are performances you carry with you long after the curtain falls. Cio-Cio-San has always felt that way for me. She waits. She hopes with a certainty that breaks her. And every time I step into her world, I find something new to grieve, to understand, to release. This archival clip is one of those moments I return to, not because it was perfect, but because it was real. The vulnerability of that music, Puccini's impossibly beautiful lines, and the particular ache of singing loss while standing in a lit space surrounded by strangers who somehow feel it too. What a dream to debut this role with Sun-Ly Pierce as my Suzuki, Marcus Shields as our director, and with Louis on the podium. That's what opera does. That's why I keep showing up. If Butterfly has ever moved you, I'd love to know what it means to you. ✨

"When my old mother taught me songs to sing, tears would well strangely in her eyes. Now my cheeks are wet with tears, when I teach the children how to sing and play." This Mother's Day, I'm singing Dvořák's "Songs My Mother Taught Me", and feeling every word of it. There's something about passing music down through generations that gets to the heart of why I do this. My mother gave me song. I'm giving it to mine. 🎹 @louislohraseb

Leontyne Price didn't just sing. She commanded the stage with a voice that could fill any space and a presence that was absolutely regal. Her Aida, her Tosca, her Butterfly. These weren't just performances, they were defining interpretations that still set the standard. Listening to her recordings reminds me why we do this work: to move people, to create something beautiful and lasting. #leontynePrice #goldenageopera #operahistory #soprano #operalegends #classicalmusic

There is a moment in "Al dolce guidami" from Anna Bolena where the music asks you to completely surrender, to grief, to longing, to a vulnerability that is almost too much to hold. This is one of those moments. Donizetti wrote something extraordinary here: a woman losing her grip on reality, but finding in that loss a strange, heartbreaking tenderness. Would you like to hear more? 🤍

A year ago this month, I was stepping into Jitka for the very first time. Dalibor doesn't come up often, it lives in a quieter corner of the repertoire, but this production was such a gift. An incredible cast, music that genuinely surprised me, and a role I'll carry with me for a long time. Leonora's confrontation with the Count in Act IV of "Il Trovatore" is desperate, fierce, and vocally thrilling. Grateful to have shared this with @_ethanvincent at the @RiversideLyricOpera Gala this February, with @Louislohraseb bringing Verdi's drama to life from the podium!
