On occasion, one of my closest friends and I would meet at a coffee shop in Toronto and daydream. Ten years ago, she was an aspiring photographer, and I didn't have a clue what I wanted to be (dabbled in acting). We'd talk for hours and imagine these crazy lives that we would one day live out, and they were all really nice ideas.
Today, she shoots movie stars and crazy international brands. I sell paintings around the world and tell stories to millions of people. I always loved her for how big she dreamed, and I think that's the magic ingredient for our success.
She came over on Saturday. We had coffee, tea, and snacks. We talked for hours, as we always do. Took some photos. And dreamed all over again.

This really started without a plan
I was in Vietnam, shooting purely from instinct, no client, no brief. The visual language carried forward, and I was later asked to continue it in the city.
Months later, this work is being licensed by Dynamic Funds by Scotiabank.

When they asked me to shoot their engagement, it already felt like fate. I’d known them both growing up, from different friend groups, never realizing their stories would merge like this.
They got engaged by the sea in Italy, where they’ll also be married. So when we shot this in Toronto, I wanted to chase that same softness, the warmth, the wind, the feeling of being oceanside.
Because sometimes the real challenge isn’t the location its capturing the moment and what their love feels like.
