After six years of relentless hard work, I was honored to be accepted into Columbia University with a scholarship. Turning it down was the most difficult and scary academic decisions I’ve ever had to make— especially given the current state of research in the US— but it just wasn’t financially feasible, even with support. Grateful for the journey, and still moving forward. 💙🦁📚

Good morning, #houston. Best part of the day was seeing Rice University students “sledding” down the theatre hill using wet floor signs. #handstands #milleroutdoortheatre #hermannparkconservancy #braysbayougreenway #snowday

What a crazy 12 hours with the pretty unpredictable Hurricane Beryl. For a category 1 it did a lot more damage than expected to the city and surrounding areas. I’m pretty lucky that my building did not sustain any damage considering what I saw the next day in Hermann Park, Museum District and the Medical Center. The last picture is sustained wind speeds in and around Harris country courtesy of NOAA. I live at the tiny “x” in the medical center and 1.5 miles away from Hermann Park. Additionally, I didn’t realize my handstand was compensating for wind until after I filmed it 🤣#hurricaneberyl #houston #hurricanehandstands #handstand *Professional at work, don’t try this at home 😆*

Part II - Another beautiful day spent making friends with the guides. It all started when I low key pretended to use the force to open an automatic door. An elderly guide happened to see it and when I walked by him he said, “May the force be with you.” I turned, shook his hand and said, “And also with you.” (A worship service had just let out, so I couldn’t help myself) We walked and talked for a good long while after that. The cathedral is also home to one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta. Bonus: There happened to be an organist (doctoral candidate) practicing that day. #traveler #travels

Picturesque day, very VERY windy (the norm)… it was lovely. I made friends with the guides this day. What a phenomenal history. I could have spent all day here, but I had to catch a train. #travels #dovercastlr

Made the most of the beautiful weather and went hiking for hours. Walked and talked with locals who told me the long and storied history (from Bronze Age, to N#apoleon to WWII) and with strangers who told me how much it meant to them to be here. PS: getting to that beach shore (via the Langdon stairs) is not for the faint of heart. Fun fact: the light house on the cliffs was where Marconi sent the first ship to shore transmission. #handstands #whitecliffsofdover #bluebirds #travels #traveler

Part I - Pictures do not do it justice. In fact, these aren’t even the entire photograph themselves. (Thanks insta) It’s not just the sheer size but the incredible detail. There is a person in the last photo, on the right… you’ll have to zoom in. #salisburycathedral #handstand #medieval

Went and saw a man about a henge. What a beautiful day! Made a few friends at the site, including the hilarious Glaswegian police officer who scolded me for not having Scotland on this itinerary. #stonehenge #handstands #worldheritagesite #travel

Couldn’t miss out on this opportunity to handstand. I graduated with highest honors at the top of my 2023 class, as a distinguished scholar at the top 4% and departmental honors in psychology. But I did not do this alone. I am so grateful and lucky to have the best people I know at my side who never doubted my ability even when I did, gave me the space to ugly cry when I needed, cheered the loudest for my successes, allowed me to study between coaching classes, gave me guidance when I felt lost, and were there at the drop of a hat when I called from a city over. With out a question I wouldn’t be here without them. Period. #theroadsofar #utaustin #classof2023 #coach #academic #handstand #uttower #distinguishedscholar #honors
