A few months back my friend @eric13000 asked me if I would consider making a video for the Eric13 @andthepinheads song “Art School”. I said I would love to do it! I met Eric many years ago at a @sexslavesnyc show in the Netherlands when I was fresh out of Art School (synchronicity, what?). We hung out, I got beat up after the show, the band helped me out and we remained in contact over the years. I am a big fan and supporter of so many of Eric’s projects and have always felt a strong kinship with his relentless DIY approach to his art. From the moment the song was released it hit me on a personal level and had one of those “did he write this about me?” moments. The lyrics hit all the hopes and dreams little 16 y.o me had when I didn’t know who I was supposed to be in this world if not an artist. The Basquiat reference was extra icing on the cake for his work has had some of the greatest impact and influence on me. So you can imagine this collaboration felt like a perfect match. I love how the video turned out! The video is out now. I had the honor of DJing at the @vinylchickie Record Shoppe for the Pierre Robert Record Collection Event this past weekend. My brother DJ Jimmy Jazz & I were spinning the tunes all day & witnessed the massive outpouring of love for the late @pierrerobert933 . See my video of the hundreds of people lined up to get albums from Pierre’s personal collection. Each family could purchase 2 items, which included a commemorative sticker authenticating that it was from his collection. It was fun asking everyone what they got as they left the store. I met so many cool people, including a kitten named Pierre! I managed to score an incredible album: Jim Carroll - Catholic Boy 💯 @933wmmr was out in force along with many local vendors, news outlets & friendly faces.
