Join us on Thursday, June 18 at 6:00 PM PDT for an art evening at Leica Store San Francisco! We’re thrilled to host an artist conversation between artist Eric Ruby @eric.ruby and Allie Haeusslein @haus_of_allie , Curator of Photography and Student Art at SFO Musem @sfomuseum ! The discussion will center on Ruby’s new exhibition Kamper Sweet Kamper at SFO Museum and his latest publication with Nocturno @nocturnobooks , Stone Soup, a compelling visual meditation on drought, climate change, and the quiet tensions that define contemporary life in the American West. From 2015 to 2018, Eric Ruby lived on a farm in Sonoma County, about forty-five miles north of San Francisco, in a small 1960s Forester travel trailer he affectionately called “the Kamper.” What began as a practical relocation for a job in photographer Jim Goldberg’s North Bay studio ultimately became the foundation for a photographic project. Kamper Sweet Kamper offers a glimpse into this rural interlude through Ruby’s carefully observed scenes. Both serendipitous discoveries and deliberately staged vignettes reveal how he used the camera not merely to document his surroundings, but to understand them—to form a relationship with an unfamiliar landscape and those who shared it. * RSVP is required link in bio, seating will be available on a first come first serve basis. Conversation will begin at 6:30pm, and will be followed a book signing with Eric Ruby. Images by Eric Ruby: 1. Late Summer Harvest Still Life, 2016 2. Summer Solstice View at Night, 2016 3. ✨✨ARTIST SPOTLIGHT ✨✨ Nicole Skibola ( @nicoleskibola ) is a Bolinas-based artist working within mixed media and inspired by a practice of Zen meditation and a lifelong, devotional relationship to the non-human living world around her. Her most current series of Japanese woodblock prints echo the energetic dialogue and intelligence received by way of solitude in the forest. A ritualized set of actions have evolved for her within a small zendo meditation/creative space near the edge of the Pacific Ocean ~ : carving wood, dampening paper, walking into the forest next to her studio, waiting for the paper to soak, giving the printing block a rest in order to approach creative quandaries. : As such, this show is dedicated to the trees, flowers, and animals that exist within her and all around her. •••••• ‘ The Whole World is a Single Flower ‘ will be at the gallery May 3 - June 15 Opening Celebration: Sunday May 3 •5pm • •••••••• 📸 these beautiful portraits of Nicole were made by the one and only Eric Ruby ( @eric.ruby ) April’s exhibiting artist :)

I wouldn’t be mad to spend a Sunday here. Sharing another corner of our Potter’s House project - the dining room. We removed the wall between the kitchen and the once formal dining room, doubling the light for both spaces. In its place, we leaned into a more casual approach with a collection of bench seating, stools, and the homeowner’s sentimental vintage chairs, helping the room feel evolved rather than designed. Opposite the table, we made use of a small wall niche to build a slim bar for storage and display. The stone is Blue Macaubas quartzite. I know you’ll ask 😉 It takes a village. Designed by the team at @prospectrefugestudio . Featured @homeworthy and in @galeriemagazine with a beautiful story by @ryanwaddoups . Photographed by @taylorhallobrien . Floral styling by @dearhyssop

Announcing February's Book-of-the-Month: Stone Soup by Eric Ruby Stone Soup brings together Eric Ruby’s photographs from the past decade and presents them collaged on fabrics from his personal collection. The results are a maximalist colorful aesthetic that creates playful and unexpected visual harmonies. The photographs offer a glimpse into Ruby’s daily life—things grown in the garden, visits to friends’ houses, a trip to the beach, or a quiet moment. The collected textiles feel almost as if they were plucked straight out of a scene depicted in the photographs. Together, the collages are a true appreciation for the things, places, and people in Ruby’s lived experience. Join the Club in February and receive a signed copy of Stone Soup. Plans starting at $58/mo, with free shipping to US, EU, UK, and CA. @eric.ruby @nocturnobooks
