This film was inspired by ”The Demon Seated“ (Демон сидящий) Mikhail Vrubel, 1890.
The painting depicts a seated demon with a sorrowful expression and a contemplative gaze. He is not a traditional embodiment of evil, but rather a lonely, exiled spirit representing a struggle for freedom, love, and existence. This portrayal echoes the demon in Lermontov’s poem—one who is both melancholic and proud.
