During my recent visit to Mexico City, one of my favorite moments was spending part of a day shopping and galavanting around Roma with my sisters.

On our stroll we stopped to take pictures at the beautiful Parque México. I’m so grateful for days like this, just us dolls being the girls we are, taking up space and experiencing the joy we deserve. 🏳️⚧️ love you tojo!

ESCAPISM /əˈskāpˌizəm: the habitual diversion of the mind to imaginative activity, entertainment, or fantasy to seek relief from reality, routine, or stress.
Listening to Raye’s lyrics really had me self assessing about a few things. What things do I use as an escape? Do those things serve me or get in my way? What is it I’m trying to escape from? Taking on this directorship for Culture Shock SD also had me looking deeply inward. Who am I as a dancer, educator, and artist? What is it exactly that I have to offer the troupe, the community, the craft and the culture? I’ve been thankful to face these inner inquiries challenging myself to continue to grow and stay grateful. I used to think of dance as my escape. These days dance feels like the thing that keeps me most present. Essentially these questions led me to using this song as the season’s audition piece. With encouragement from members of the troupe, we decided to do something fun with the audition choreography and make this video.

On Christmas Day I had to leave our family party early to perform. To my surprise @jazellemolina@dabear619@cherrylavm brought Enoch to watch Stocking Full of Soul for the third time! 😍🥰🫶🏽 Heart bursting at the seams! Love y’all. Best Christmas present
Dreamland ‘26☁️🫶🏽✨
Four years now and it doesn’t get easier missing you but every time Dreamland comes around near your birthday feels like getting to hug you again @ohaifeewix . It’s nights like this that remind me that life’s too short, community is vital, and true art comes from the heart.
Special Thanks to all who were in attendance and your generous donations, and every volunteer and performer who made the night what it was, @emmangination_studios for capturing video for the night, @k1nglenz for snapping photos, and @wearethae for being the backbone of this event.
Congratulations @sunset.theythem on winning Teri’s Dream Fund this year. Excited to be a part of what you do with it for @goldenhourthejam !
Also, it was a bittersweet honor to be able to hold the very last event that the Chrysalis held before closing. Much gratitude for all you provided THAE and others like us in community with safe spaces to learn, create and showcase our arts.
