caffenol experiment part 2/?
roll #4! a walk around glendale, scratches smears and all. these photos are unedited so you can see the true contrast (or lack thereof) and exposure of the photos. rolls 2&3 I developed together and altered the chemistry and nothing came out, but roll 4 is gorgeous. looking forward to tweaking exposure for the next roll and playing around with the recipe (possibly pushing a roll?) as well as trying it out with some super8 footage…
if anyone has extra super8 film lying around (expired, left in the garage for years, I’ll take anything!) that they want to donate to science/art… :)

walked around glendale with my camera for an hour, went home, and brewed up some developer with instant coffee (recipe available upon request of course). chucked my film in a canister for 11 minutes and voila! very tactile and fun 🤌🏻 more home brewing experiments to come :)

Winning Time Season 2 Episode 1 is out on Max ! ! ! The show was an incredible experience for me. You won’t find me in the credits (?)
BUT I worked on the covid team, moved over to the camera team and PAed, and finally joined the union and worked some days as a utility. The entire camera team was welcoming, kind, and taught me so so so so so much. I learned so much every day and made relationships I hope to have for a lifetime đź’• so go watch the show!!!

I’ve posted on my story but wanted to post something that will last more than 24 hours (however I will continue updating my story and link in bio with different resources) these images encourage you to ask yourself the most BASIC of questions to understand the black lives matter movement. there’s so much more to it, and after asking yourself those starter questions, continue to educate yourself on performative activism, systemic racism, police abolition, how to safely protest, where to donate to, petitions to sign, the harmful effects on the BLM movement when posting peaceful images of cops, among numerous other issues. I’m not perfectly educated on everything but it’s important to keep working on it! and in the meantime to open up your wallets and donate to bail funds and sign petitions to help (esp. if you’re white)
