Equity stands with @bectuunion 's behind-the-scenes film and TV workers and we're asking you to do the same!
Bectu's Broken Turnaround survey has revealed widespread breaches of basic rest periods, and a culture that is putting workers at risk.

We are very proud to say that the LGBT+ Committee motion passed at Equity’s 2026 Conference in Durham this weekend!!
The motion called for greater support, protection and union representation for artists working in spaces connected to sex work.
The motion was proposed and seconded by our brilliant Committee members Emma Jayne Park (@sortofchaos ) & @smashlynmonroe ✊🏻🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
🎉 We are delighted that our Motion to Council was passed unanimously over the weekend!! We had incredible support and solidarity from our creative and performing comrades - no one voted against or abstained from voting on our motion and we had multiple members come and speak to us throughout the weekend showing their support.
Moving forward this means Equity will fully support Stage Managers in pushing back against being asked to take on extra responsibilities without proper recompense.
Extra responsibilities is something that ALL Stage Managers will have battled with in their career and we’re delighted that Equity are full behind helping us call out these bad practices.
You can always reach out to the relevant Equity Official or Stage Management Committee for guidance if needed. The Stage Management Hub is a resource which everyone can access but we really encourage all Stage Managers to become a member of Equity. It’s a very exciting time to join the Union and the more Stage Managers in the Union, the stronger we are.
⭐️ Join us to join in. There is no theatre without Stage Managers ⭐️
