Africa’s creative economy is emerging as one of the continent’s most powerful growth frontiers, driven by musicians, filmmakers, photographers, digital storytellers and content creators shaping culture and influencing global audiences. Equity reaffirmed its commitment to supporting creatives as entrepreneurs capable of building sustainable careers and industries. Speaking at the Africa Forward Le Concert, Equity Group CEO and Managing Director, Dr. James Mwangi noted that the Bank is restructuring how it works with creatives by developing tailored solutions that support financing, long-term growth and recognize talent as capital. The approach was further echoed by Equity Bank Kenya Managing Director Moses Nyabanda during a creative economy masterclass where discussions focused on co-creating solutions directly with creatives to provide financing and financial education for business support and ecosystem development. As a movement of the people, Equity continues to standout as a strategic partner in advancing Africa’s creative economy. #PoweringAfricasOpportunities #AfricaForwardSummit2026 #AfricaResilienceandRecoveryPlan #EquityBank

What happens when creators, innovators, artists, and industry leaders gather in one room? Conversations that challenge perspectives, spark ideas, and redefine what’s possible for Africa’s creator economy. The Equity Creator Masterclass, held alongside the #AfricaForwardSummit, created a space for honest discussions around creativity, influence, business, visibility, and the realities of building sustainable brands in today’s digital world. Beyond the conversations, creators were encouraged to see themselves as investments first understanding that growth begins with continuously investing in their skills, mindset, networks, and craft. From powerful insights shared by Yemi Alade and Coster Ojwang to impactful conversations led by Moses Nyabanda, Anyiko Owoko, Lotan Salapei, and Olivier Laouchez, the session highlighted the power of African creativity and the opportunities that exist when talent meets intention. At Equity, we believe creators are shaping culture, influencing industries, and driving the future of digital entrepreneurship across the continent. And if the energy in the room was anything to go by, Africa’s creator economy is only just getting started. #EquityCreatorMasterclass #AfricaForwardSummit #CreatorEconomy #AfricanCreators

While speaking at a high-level panel discussion titled “The Scale Architects: The Long Game” during the ongoing Africa CEO Forum 2026 in Kigali, Equity Group Managing Director and CEO, Dr. James Mwangi, emphasized that Africa’s next phase of growth will be shaped by collaboration, technology and institutions capable of thinking beyond short-term cycles. He noted that as the global economy reorganizes, Africa has a unique opportunity to move beyond being a source of raw materials toward becoming a center for value creation, industrialization and innovation. Dr. Mwangi highlighted technology as a major accelerator of transformation across the continent, particularly in banking and financial services, where digital infrastructure is helping expand inclusion, reduce barriers and create access to economic opportunity at scale. He further underscored the importance of building trusted partnerships, observing that long-term transformation depends on credible institutions with a proven track record of delivery, integrity and shared purpose. On public-private collaboration, Dr. Mwangi noted that governments and businesses across Africa are increasingly working together to build the infrastructure, policy frameworks and innovation ecosystems needed to support sustainable economic growth and unlock the continent’s full potential. #AfricaCEOForum #ACF2026 #Leadership #Innovation #DigitalTransformation
