We’re honoured to announce that Bramble House has won the Lutron Excellence Award for Best Shading Project.
This recognition celebrates one of the most technically innovative shading solutions in the UK – the first-ever integrated bottom-up blinds system, engineered and executed by the team at Equippd.
Every detail of this project pushed us to think differently: from custom precision engineering to seamless integration with the home’s historic character. It’s a testament to vision, craft, and care.

This award isn’t just about shading systems. It’s about collaboration, craftsmanship, and the pursuit of beautiful technology that feels like it was always there.
How do you protect privacy in a London home without losing natural light?
It’s a challenge faced by many ground-floor residences, where street-level exposure often means choosing between openness and comfort. At Bramble House, we set out to change that.
In collaboration with @studio_jo_cowen , @joannaplantinteriors and @element_construction_london , we developed and installed the UK’s first bottom-up blinds fitted into bay windows – a completely bespoke shading solution using @lutronelectronocs materials and mechanism.
Rising from the bottom, these blinds allow daylight to flood the room while keeping views from the street discreetly screened. Every mechanism was hidden within the window joinery and aligned to millimetre precision, blending advanced technology into the home’s period architecture.
