PROGRAMMATION Pour sa deuxième édition, GRAIN URBAIN développe sa programmation et propose une sélection de 12 films en compétition et deux films hors compétition, marquant l’ouverture et la clôture de la soirée. Sous l’œil du comité de sélection, les films sélectionnés offrent un regard contemporain, à travers un dialogue entre rétrospective et futurs potentiels, sur la manière dont les villes se transforment, encouragent à la flânerie individuelle ou, au contraire, deviennent l’épicentre d’experiences collectives, qu’elles soient dystopiques ou utopiques. Under the watchful eye of the selection committee, the selected films offer a contemporary perspective, through a dialogue between retrospective and potential futures, on how cities are transforming, encouraging individual strolls or, on the contrary, becoming the epicenter of collective experiences, whether dystopian or utopian. ‘ALL VANISHED FORMS — Six Pieces for Pipe Organ and Electronics’ came out a little over a year ago and is still available to stream via the link in bio! We’re so proud of this project and have loved performing it live in Europe and the US over the past months, rediscovering our own recordings in different acoustic settings, improvising live on them with different organs, and sharing precious moments with you. We can’t wait to play it together again soon! Thank you so much for your continued support! —— "These six pieces, composed and recorded between 2021 and 2023 at the Kölner Philharmonie, Basilique Notre-Dame de Thierenbach, and Église Saint-Germain de Vitteaux in Burgundy, trace a reflective and deeply personal exploration of shared musical research. By merging our mediums of expression, pipe organ and electronics, we sought to explore new sonic and philosophical landscapes. Through the interplay of textures, we aimed to excavate raw emotions and distill the essence of elemental forces. Each piece is structured around sedimented layers of pipe organ shaped by pre-established improvisation protocols, slowly expanding the narrative of an incessantly moving organic matter. In counterpoint, electronic clusters push the elements toward entropy, by synchronizing and de-synchronizing in a dynamic tension that resolves into light and catharsis.
