The future of AI must be JUST. That starts with redistribution.
Join more than 500 voices calling for Universal Basic Income (UBI) as a non-negotiable pillar of an equitable #AI future.
At Equal Right, our mission is to put money back in the hands of communities on the frontlines, of climate change, of inequality, of systemic exclusion.
From Tuvalu to Colombia, weāre building justice-driven basic income models grounded in climate finance, equity, and human rights.
If the wealth AI generates doesnāt flow to the many, it will deepen the injustice weāre already fighting. Thatās why weāre adding our name, our work, and our voice to this pledge.
We encourage everyone in our network to sign this pledge now.

Watch the incredible speech our LATAM Director Carlos Perez delivered at the Investment Partner Engagement Hub, in Santa Marta.
Co-hosted by Equal Right, Fundación Avina, Wings, Amazon Conservation Team, Bridging Ventures and APC-Colombia, the event brought together stakeholders from governments, NGOs, private sector, philanthropies and more to discuss solutions, policy pathways and funding for a truly just transition away from fossil fuels!
Last week, our Brazil and LATAM Directors were in Santa Marta (Colombia) at the First Transition Away from Fossil Fuels Conference.
With extensive participation in several spaces, including the high-level Investment Partner Engagement Hub, Equal Right reinforced that the solutions to the climate crisis already exist, and itās only by looking at local and traditional communities that weāll be able to overcome it.
With Cap&Share and Cash for Conservation, Equal Right continues to show that a better world is possible, needed and urgent! By taxing polluters to redistribute wealth to frontline communities, not only can we transition away from fossil fuels but also make it a just transition!
Cap & Share and Basic Income, now!
As the First Transition Away from Fossil Fuels Conference is underway, two reports have helped shape NGO engagement: the Government of Colombia engagement process and the Climate Action Network / DCJ Peopleās Summit.
In both spaces, Cap & Share and unconditional cash transfers have been clearly put forward as necessary outcomes for a fair and just transition.
Equal Right is on the ground to make sure vulnerable communities are not left out of the energy transition ā and to push for a transition that also delivers profound income redistribution.

Our Executive Director, Dr. Patrick Brown, is on the ground at the Global Sustainable Islands Summit (#GSIS2026) in Gran Canaria!
At Equal Right, weāre advancing climate justice, human rights, and equity through unconditional cash transfers (UCTs), and this week, weāre spotlighting our bold new idea:
š” The South Pacific Climate Justice Fund ā a sovereign-style fund delivering regular, unconditional support to frontline communities, inspired by the Marshall Islandsā UBI model.
We believe climate finance should be locally led, dignity-based, and reparative, and GSIS is the perfect space to take that conversation forward.

Last week, Equal Right joined Acampamento Terra Livre, the biggest Indigenous mobilization in Brazil. This yearās message was clear: āOur future is not for sale: the answer is us.ā
In conversation with the Tapayuna people during the event, our Brazil Director heard firsthand about their challenges, priorities, and how direct cash support could provide meaningful, flexible solutions led by the community itself.

What does it take to build a just food system?
At the Feeding Ourselves conference in Ireland, our ED Patrick Brown moderated a powerful panel on how Basic Income can transform food sovereignty, from Cloughjordan to Colombia.
We heard from farmer campaigns, bioregional networks, and researchers all pointing to one thing: local food producers need recognition, resources, and income security, to thrive.
Equal Right is proud to keep pushing forward with unconditional cash for climate justice.
