Progress here has never been fast or easy. It has required patience, persistence, and people willing to stay engaged even when outcomes were uncertain. For 25 years we have achieved what many have said is impossible. However, we know that vigilance is always required. In just two short years, the political landscape has become more extreme. The culture wars are raging. There are forces working to roll back protections we have achieved, and specifically to scapegoat minority populations. So our commitment to LGBTQ Utahns — and to everyone in our state who values justice — remains unwavering. We ask that you remain by our side for the next 25 years.  Our Legislative Wrap brought the community together and the energy in the room was palpable. We celebrated wins, discussed the importance of the work we do together, and heard a thoughtful update from Marina Lowe (our Senior Director of Legal and Legislative Affairs) on the 2026 session.
 We were honored to present the Southern Utah Community Award to John and Kristin Hunt. While we lost John earlier last week, his legacy of generosity, leadership, and commitment to this community will continue to be felt for years. Kristin, thank you for everything you both have given to this work.
 We also officially welcomed Essie as Executive Director, an important step for Equality Utah and the work ahead.  🌄 The support from the Southern Utah community was deeply felt, and it’s this community that has helped prepare her for this role.
