Thanks to all who participated in the paper shredding event. Over 4000 pounds of personal documents were safely shredded today. Special thanks to the Friends of the Library for making this event possible.
Through the month of May, the Unity Grange 1761 has some of their community service projects on display at the library. The group meets the 4th Tuesday of each month at the Unity Grange Hall on N. Market Street. Some of their service projects include hosting a tractor show, making toys for Akron Children’s Hospital, and recycling batteries, greeting cards, and eyeglasses. The group also makes hats for both Mercy Health and Social Concerns. For more information about the Unity Grange, contact their president, Harry Foster at 330-426-2482.
Local artists and artisans- the Friends of the Library are offering a Silent Auction during the June book sale: Thursday, June 4, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, and Friday, June 5, and Saturday, June 6, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Friends would love to include a donation of your art or a handmade item during the auction. The proceeds from the auction will benefit East Palestine Memorial Public Library. Donations will be accepted until Monday, June 1, 2026.
The Friends of the Library meets tonight, Tuesday, May 12 at 6:00 pm. New members are welcome. The group's next meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
A free paper shredding event will be held at the East Palestine Memorial Public Library at 309 N. Market St., East Palestine, OH 44413 on Saturday, May 16 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Participants may bring five standard trash bags or boxes of personal documents to have shredded on site. Staples do not need to be removed. Please, no magazines, newspapers, books, etc. Please enter the parking lot from the N. Walnut Street entrance.
We celebrated Superhero Day at Night Owl Storytime with stories and superhero activities such as saving the Pigeon, and passing through “laser beams.” Thanks to all who attended the program.
Thank you to all who registered to attend the Friends of the Library Spring Tea Party. The event is now full. We look forward to seeing all who registered to attend at this event planned by Friends of the Library. Doors will open at 12:30 pm.
