Today, our very own Mary Henry signed her latest book, “Madison Park Haikus,” in Epiphany’s Great Hall. All proceeds will be going to Service and Outreach!
What a fun way to kick off the month—taking on a Spartan Race with an amazing group from my church family! It was so cool getting a shoutout at the start line for bringing together this strong crew of 14 who were ready to get down and dirty.
We started together, pushed through every challenge together, left no one behind, and crossed the finish line strong as a team.
So grateful for this tribe! Aroo! #EpiphanySeattle #Spartan2026
Congratulations to our own Mary Richardson on her confirmation at Cathedral Day!
Cathedral Day is a celebration of the community of the Diocese of Olympia and features a service of Holy Communion with confirmations, receptions, and reaffirmations.

Tonight, you'll come into the dark. You'll hear the story. Ancient songs will be sung, and then, the bell rings, and the light comes on. And we're reminded that, even in the darkness, no darkness can be so dark that the light cannot extinguish it immediately.
Then we gather on Easter morning. Park far away so folks that aren't used to coming and are maybe coming a little late can find a place to park and scoot into the service. It's going to be pretty crowded this year. This year we've had to date more folks than we've ever had since I've been at Epiphany. That's extraordinary. It says something about what we're doing together as a Christian community.
Almighty God, we pray you graciously to behold this your family, for whom our Lord Jesus Christ was willing to be betrayed, and given into the hands of sinners, and to suffer death upon the cross; who now lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
This Good Friday, we are calling this temporary camera set-up to capture the Epiphany Choir on the balcony during tonight’s liturgy “Bob’s Camera.” One of Bob Barnes’ final acts of service to this parish was his advice and encouragement when we were coming up with a solution to stream from the balcony on the eve of his passing into glory. We miss you, Bob, and we are thinking of you this Holy Week.
During the night on Maundy Thursday, a watch is kept before the consecrated bread on the Altar of Repose in the Chapel. The consecrated bread is felt to be the real presence of Christ, and so we keep vigil with Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane on the last night before he is handed over to be crucified.
The tradition comes from the question Jesus asked his disciples Peter, James, and John, who kept falling asleep as Jesus prayed in agony awaiting his arrest: “Can’t you keep watch with me even one hour?” So we keep watch, praying through the night. It is fine to simply show up.
