How buyers are saving serious money using a 5-Year ARM š
Many buyers automatically think the 30-year fixed mortgage is the only option, but in todayās market a 5-Year ARM can actually save you a lot of money. Itās been a game changer for a handful of my clients.
Hereās the simple way to think about it:
Letās say the 30YR fixed rate is 6.5%
But a 5YR ARM might be around 5.5%
On a $500,000 loan that could mean roughly:
š° $300ā$350 LESS per month
Thatās $18,000ā$20,000 saved over the first 5 years.
Now hereās the key part people miss: Most homeowners donāt keep their mortgage for 30 years anyway.
They either: Refinance, Move, Upgrade homes
So some buyers are using a 5YR ARM as a strategy to lock in the lower payment today and then refinance later if rates improve.
