We wanted to thank everyone who came out to our panel discussion eSeLschwarm: how we do storytelling for/from communities ✨ We heard fruitful insights from our panelists as well as the audience. Thank you @mqwien for lending space to this discussion! We at eSeLschwarm are looking forward to continuing and improving our work on coverage of uncovered perspectives in Vienna’s Art scene. We also heard loud and clear that our community would like more in-person events to have these discussions so we will be looking for ways to facilitate more in-person events ✨ Until then, you can still view our exhibition From Post to Practice: Storytelling Through eSeLschwarm until August 18th at the eSeL Rezeption in MuseumsQuartier. 📷: eSeL.at - Lorenz Seidler #storytelling #community #viennart #museumsquartier #eselschwarm

Join us tomorrow for our panel How We Do Storytelling For/From Communities taking pace on the @mqwien summer stage 💜 How can we tell stories that don’t usually get told in the Austrian art world? How can artists, cultural workers, and institutions center the voices of BIPoC, queer, decolonial, and other marginalized communities—not just as subjects, but as storytellers and meaning-makers? Join us for a panel conversation exploring how eSeLschwarm, a platform for collaborative cultural commentary, is working to shift who gets seen, heard, and remembered in Vienna’s art and culture scene. Together with those actively making this a reality in Vienna, we’ll unpack strategies for creating space in institutions and public discourse for more complex, diverse, and community-rooted narratives. This event takes place in the context of our current exhibition From Post to Practice: Storytelling Through eSeLschwarm, on view until August 18th. Panelists include: Nicole Dania Fölß – Cultural worker and art mediator at Kunstraum Niederoesterreich Zhameli Khairli – Cultural worker Dinara Turagulova – eSeLschwarm contributor Tayla Myree – Artist, cultural worker, and eSeLschwarm coordinator This discussion invites anyone passionate about culture—whether you’re an artist, curator, student, or just curious—to imagine new approaches to storytelling and visibility in Vienna and beyond. Stick around after the panel for a casual networking session to meet eSeLschwarm collaborators and connect with others working at the intersections of art and community. i feel like i had such a beautiful, chaotic, confusing, fast-paced, expansive yet grounding year in 2024 (there were so many things i achieved, so many things to celebrate and so many people to love 🖤) and 2025 is starting r o u g h, but i am still optimistic - i still have things to share but prolly another day

from an exhibition i saw since november 2023 - undulating currents - curated by @mdave19 and @brooklyn.pakathi ; they also added these books and many more to the university’s library which prior to this had only a handful of books on Black artists, philosophers, theorists. thank you both - i am still affected! it really stuck with me - and i’ve beeeeen meaning to share these for a while but somehow the time wasn’t right before. now i’m waiting out a storm so i’ve got time :D and something about being surrounded by water (rain, the ocean) and hearing strong winds in my current geographic location feels fitting part 1 of 2 and shoutout to the ability to post 20 pics instead of 10 also… yes.. the quality of the pics.. i know lol
